"I was impressed with his prompt response to my request with Anji. He gave an estimate of his eta at that time and then followed up with an exact time. He came prepared to work. He cleaned the drain pipe with an auger and a jet spray in a very short time. Was respectful of the floors, took out the trash, and cleaned up after himself. His fee was less than any of the others who came to give an estimate. I am very pleased!"

"Finding a plumber on a Friday night when you come home from work and find yourself with 2 non-functioning toilets isn't easy. But Ecoplumbers took care of the problem that night. Taylor Cordle was very personable and took care of the problems more quickly than I would have expected. I could not have been more pleased!"

Small jobs welcome

"John arrived at 2:05 Sunday afternoon. John was very professional, and explained what needed fixed and what it would cost. A new toilet and supply alone were needed. He noted what we needed and when out to get it in a half hour. S total of and a half hours, John has everything installed and tested. I have had many different plumbers in my life, but I cannot remember anyone who provided such a great service experience with a plumbing problem. Also, everything was left in a very clean manner."

"Services: Unclog drain, Repair toilet, Repair pipe. // Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness // Haines was recommended to me saying they were good at their job. I called them Monday, Feb 15th about a clogged drain, they came out Tues Feb 16th at the time I was told they would be there, which was great! They were there from 3:30 pm to 6:50 pm. Some repairs had to be made to the laundry tub drain and my toilet had to be lifted so they could access that portion of the drain. After the toilet was replaced, the shut-off valve leaked, so I asked them to replace that also. The work that was done created quite a mess... BUT, when they were finished you would never know that. Everything was cleaned up so well and disinfected, it looked nice and smelled nice. The workmen were very professional and knowledgeable about their job. I will add this company to my contacts as a reliable source for repairs."

"Phil and Mickey were awesome! They worked as a team and were persistent as they problem-solved my septic system issue. They were very friendly and listened as I explained the steps I had taken prior to their arrival. I called three other plumbing services with no response. Peter's answered right away and promised they would be out to help that same day. I am very pleased with the work these guys did. I got a little break in the cost with my Angie's List discount."

"The work was great. But they are terribly overpriced. I paid $179 for them to put a new toilet seat on my toilet. My total bill for a broken flange was over $1600. If you don’t mind paying an exorbitant rate, then these people are for you because they do very good work."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

The main cause of bathroom leaks is seals and connectors that loosen or deteriorate over time, causing leaks to develop. It's important to stay on top of your bathroom materials, as toilets, showers, and sinks all have different lifespans. Toilets and faucets last between 10 and 15 years on average with regular maintenance, but different parts may have shorter lifespans than others.

DIY is possible for minor repairs or replacements. Professional services ensure proper installation and leak prevention.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.
