"Robert came into our home at the mentioned time, was polite and friendly. He remolded my cabinets by painting them for me, also gave me an educational tip on which paint color I should use considering I have children who like to make messes! The job was done in a timely fashion, I love my kitchen now, literally looks like a brand new house! Iâ  m very pleased with his work and canâ  t wait to have him come paint my living room!"

"Thomas was punctual, professional, and highly responsive throughout the entire process. He did an excellent job painting our bathroom, and what really stood out was that he came back the next day to inspect his work and take care of the finishing touches to ensure everything was done right. We’re very happy with the final result and would gladly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable painter."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar can remove polyurethane from wood, but it is a slow, inefficient, and inconsistent restoration method. Whatever your intention, it’s best to avoid using vinegar on wood with a polyurethane finish—though it can be an effective cleaner for other wood finishes.

It’s best to use a slightly slower-working paint remover that is safer to use, such as mineral spirits, because the strongest spray paint removers are often also the most toxic. Many of these products contain dangerous chemicals, such as methylene chloride, which the EPA banned for most uses in April 2024 after it was established as a major carcinogen.

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.

When determining the correct size of replacement windows you need for your home, you must take the horizontal and vertical measurements from inside, not outside. To measure the window horizontally, place the tape measure across the two inside window jambs. To take a vertical measurement, place the tape measure between the sill and head jamb.

Lead removal is crucial in older homes to eliminate risks of lead poisoning, which can severely affect health, particularly in children, by impacting development and cognitive functions.
