"Excellent experience. Aaron Valentine, the owner ,came out to give us an estimate and informed us about the Columbia Gas Energy Rebate. In doing so saved us over 60%.  The day of installation, his team came out. They were very professional, consciencious and neat.  Welcomed any questions i had. Cleaned up afterwards meticulously.  When winter hit, I noticed a couple areas that were cold. Aaron came back out with the heat gun to pinpoint the issues. Deployed his team within the week at no extra cost. Our utility cost were cut by over 50%. I will not hesitate to refer and/or hire them for my new house. Excellent rating!

"I just had my insulation installed two days ago and so far I’ve noticed a big difference. I hate to say it, but I’m almost looking forward to it getting a little colder so I can really determine the difference. The installers that came to my home were very professional and friendly. They took pictures and they were finished and explained what they did. They even informed me of an issue with my furnace intake pipe, which I really appreciated. I will update my review or place a new review in about six months to see how much I’m actually saving on my energy bills."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

DIY is possible for experienced individuals. Professional installation ensures compliance with building codes and proper sealing.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
