"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Mark and Zak were just great! From the beginning to the end. The treated our project as if it were for their own home with innovative ideas and excellent craftsmanship. Highly recommend them and will hire again for our next project."

"Anyone who gives this company a bad review is just plain difficult to work with themselves. Tom is an honest guy who does *GREAT* work. It is extremely difficult to find this type of reliable contractor in this area. So hard, in fact, I am contemplating not writing this review so he has more time for me. Do yourself a favor and hire Orien for your next project. You will not be disappointed...unless you are a jerk yourself."

"Shameer is great to work with. I had some non-traditional ideas and he was more than happy to oblige. He completely gutted my kitchen and re-did everything from floor to ceiling. He has a good eye, wide range of skills, and was completely trustworthy to be left to it while I went to work. I will certainly hire him again. Very pleased!"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

You aren’t obligated to tip cabinet contractors, but you can choose to do so if they went above and beyond and you want to show your gratitude. This is usually something in the ballpark of 10% to 15% of your total cost. As an alternative, you can provide snacks and drinks for workers and/or offer to serve as a reference for prospective customers.

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

Yes, most installations include warranties for materials and labor. Confirm details with your contractor.

A cabinet installer measures and designs cabinet units for homes and businesses, including determining how to hide large appliances in the kitchen. They then prepare the spaces and install either custom, semi-custom, or stock cabinets. These contractors may apply paint or stain, or they’ll hire a third party to perform these services.

Most assemblies take 1-3 hours, but larger units or those requiring wall mounting may take longer.
