"I had 3 layers of roofing on my house, and over the last 2 years I spent a ton of money on repairs. Finally I called Rapid Roofing and when they assessed the roof, they let me know that the reason I was having so many leaks was from the 3 layers of roofing and not having a proper roofing system. I decided to do a full roof replacement and it was the best decision I could have made because my roof looks great, my electric bill went down, and now I don?t need to keep repairing it! Awesome communication, great people and I got a great price! Bravo Rapid Roofing!"

"We’ve had the pleasure of working with Mario and his team at Best Job Construction on two separate roofing projects, and both experiences exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, they were punctual, thorough, and consistently professional. The quality of their work speaks for itself, and it’s clear they take pride in getting the job done right. It's not easy to find a team that delivers reliable service with such attention to detail, but Mario and his crew did just that. We’re very happy with the results and would not hesitate to use them again in the future. I highly recommend Best Job Construction for anyone in need of roofing work."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

If your roof has a vapor barrier, you will need approximately one square foot of roof vent for every 300 square feet of ceiling space. If there is no vapor barrier, the roof should have one square foot of roof vent for every 150 square feet of ceiling space. If you are not comfortable making this determination, a local roofing professional can help.

Sometimes chimney caps blow off during storms or fall off after rusting away. While this typically won’t cause structural damage, failing to replace a chimney cap can. A chimney cap prevents moisture, animals, and debris from entering your chimney, all of which can cause serious problems, such as damage to the masonry or blockages in the flue.

A roof pitch that’s too shallow won’t shed runoff as quickly, so you have an increased risk of water intrusion through the seams between your roofing materials. In colder climates, snow and ice will accumulate more easily on your roof, which can add enough weight to cause roof collapse and structural damage to your home.

Good news—asphalt shingles, including architectural shingles, are easily recycled. Talk to your roofing contractor to find out if recycling options are available in your area.

If recycling isn't available, your roofing contractor may recommend renting a dumpster, if your project is on the large side, or collecting the shingles in contractor bags to throw them away. Another option may be to donate new or gently used shingles to a local nonprofit.

To cap off a chimney flue, start by measuring its width, length, and diameter, if it’s circular. Purchase a cap that fits the flue, and decide whether you want a temporary or permanent model. Then, slide or insert the cap onto the flue and secure it with a screwdriver. Be sure to avoid over-tightening the screws to prevent chimney damage.
