Dave's Plumbing
5.0
Dave did two extraordinary jobs for us by (1) analyzing the problem and devising a viable solution to a long problematic kitchen and bathroom intermittent back-ups by designing and reconstructing the PVC drainage routing and (2) locating a hidden leakage in our indoor ("Endless Pool") swimming pool and devising/reconstructing a water-tight replacement spa jet that solved the problem (after two previous contractors were unable to do so.) The work on each project involved creative analysis of complex circumstances, considerable attentiveness to the respective problems, and completion in a timely fashion. Dave provided clear explanations of the work needed, the alternatives available, and the actual work being done. In each case, the results were outstanding, as was the reasonableness of the pricing

They responded within hours, were there the next day, on time, and done within an hour. They also provided me with advice on long-term repairs and maintenance.

I consistently go to the concord store in latham to have my water tested. They always do a great job of explaining to me what I need, and often times what I don’t need. This year, I had algae that I could not control. It took me 3 times at concord before I was able to kill it all off, and the staff was always willing to help me through this. They swayed me away from pricey chemicals that I was told by other chemicals would kill algae, but turns out it just prevents it. They also made sure I didn’t waste my money on adjustment chemicals when I was battling this problem, since I was always backwashing and adding new water. I will always trust concord with my water chemistry needs

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. I've had several services done by them. They were wonderful. I've used them probably 7 or 8 times. I've changed over to them because I think they are extremely competent. They are extremely polite. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. One job was over $5,000 so I've spent big money with them and I am extremely happy. Their prices are higher but they are still acceptable. I will absolutely continue to use them

They charge me a lot for the service. They are very reliable and work with me very well. They are prompt and punctual when I make an appointment with them. They are good to deal with and their service people stay with them so the people that I have used have been there for years.

The individuals we worked with at Concord were excellent. They do quality work and although they are not the least expensive pool provider inthe Capital District, I would recommend using them over any of their competitors. They take great care to do the job right and from my experience have a team with broadbased experience and the skills to do the job right the first time. I would suggest meeting with them if you are considering installing an inground pool

They make it easy to schedule and perform the opening and closing. We schedule the opening and closing during the winter, leave pool items outside on the day of service and they come and do the job. Always do a nice job, treat my things properly and clean up after their work.

I ordered a custom made winter pool cover for my in ground 16 x 32 pool. We unfortunately destroyed the old pool cover before we ordered the new one , so Concord was not able to use the old pool cover as a template, and charged us for drilling new holes and pool anchors in our concrete deck where necessary. The installation went smoothly and quickly. The staff was professional and courteous

After speaking with several local pool builders, we chose Concord Pools because of the overall package and quality of their pool and extended warranty. Prior to selecting them, we went around our own neighborhood and spoke to neighbors to get feedback of their installations, the problems the costs and the final results. There were obviously many choices of local builders, but hands down, Concord Pools had the best results and best looking pool installations we saw. We saw a variety of styles and installations during our search, and had lots of questions for our Sales Rep, Bryan D'Ambro, who took the time to review each and every concern, including coming to our home throughout the installation process to assure the project was going as planned. Because of the grade of our yard, the installation was certain to be a challenge, but the experienced installers of Concord Pools had no problem installing an amazing pool. Since our installation, we've spoken to other neighbors who chose another local builder and unfortunately did not have the same positive results, even though they paid almost the same amount for their pool. Therefore we recommend that people look at all details and results before selecting their pool builder. Great Job Concord Pools Staff! Our family loves the results and can't wait for another pool season and backyard fun
"Everything went great! Dean, Nick and all of the employees were great. We love the new pool and would recommend them to anyone! They did the stamped concrete and we are very happy with it. Dean and Nick were always reachable and helpful. Very courteous and polite! Pool looks great and we couldn’t be happier!!
Owner operated, family business providing a full compliment of pool and spa services. Personal attention is given to each customer and we treat your home as we would our own.
"Everything went smoothly. Jay was great at explaining the issue and giving me options to resolve it."
Ambrose Electric is a fully licensed electrical contractor providing both residential and commercial services. We also are an Elite Generac dealer providing sales, service and installation of back up generators from 8kw to 150kw.
"From start to finish, Ambrose did a great job on this project. Their rep knew exactly what we needed and gave us a written estimate within 24 hours. As we needed the generator for a medical necessity, they made our install a priority. Their installers, Justin and Larry were prompt, polite and made sure everything worked well before the left. They even made sure not to track dirt through the house while they worked. They explained everything and answered all our questions. I would recommend them without hesitation.
By selecting Concord Pools, you are dealing with a company that has been headquartered in Latham, New York, for over 44 years, and has installed more inground swimming pools in the greater Capital District than all other local pool companies combined.
"I went to Concord pools for an in ground pump problem. The company that actually installed my pool was no help at all and I have had issue after issue with. And another company I called wanted $1700 to replace something that didn't need to be replaced. Then came Concord, they treated me like they installed my pool and I had been a customer there for 20 years. They came to my aid immediately and literally saved my pool season. No other pool company I will ever need or use other than concord from now on.
Welcome to the Spa Wholesaler. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best quality hot tub at the lowest possible price. We understand when shopping for a new hot tub every place you go will tell you the tubs they sell are the best. What sets us apart, is that we have every major brand hot tub on display so you can compare them. Instead of having to believe a salespitch you can actually see the differences. We also don't pressure anyone into buying. In fact when you come in we will nev..
"Purchased a new Hot Tub, cover and cover lifter from Spa Wholesaler for $7,000. Within a few days I noticed water spitting onto the main circuit board from an unattached tube behind the main access panel. I called the owner who said it should just stop on it's own (?) or I can plug it, so I fixed it myself since water and electronics don't mix very well. Soon after I noticed one of the 4 LED's for the cup holders was barely lit. Called owner again and he said it's probably just out of alignment, he'll deal with it in the spring. Ok, not a problem. If it's something as simple as that, I can fix that too. Now a couple of weeks ago (approximately 3 mos after the tub was installed) I'm outside and see one of the straps for the cover sitting on the deck after it had fallen off. Mind you, I don't have the locks installed for the straps and have no need to touch them or pull on them, but after a recent wind storm, I thought it would be a good idea at some point in the future to attach them as the cover blew open during this storm, so having all 4 corner straps would be helpful.. Well, now I have one missing strap off the cover which appears to be a stitching defect from the factory. It was only held on by 3 or 4 stitches and the thread looks to have broke, so during the 3 mos of my ownership it slowly unthreaded itself and fell off. I called Mark, again, who asked that I send him pictures, but he immediately started to tell me he thinks "they (whoever he gets his covers from) won't do anything about it, but I still have 3 straps so that should be good enough". As I recollect, I bought the cover from YOU, yet he starts blaming 'them'. I sent him all the pictures showing the flaw, and I called him several times afterwards, each time getting an excuse or promise to get back to me, and he never calling back. I gave him ample opportunity to make this right, but my patience has run out and am tired of excuses and not returning my calls. This company does not stand behind their product and I've had enough, hence this review. Also, something else to highly consider if you want to purchase a hot tub. When we ordered the tub, I wanted the optional "full foam insulation" to save electricity since the internal piping without this foam is basically just behind the thin cabinet walls and my prior hot tub had full foam. My wife and I were talked (conned) into not getting the full foam as it's 'not necessary' per Mark. Well, now during the winter when we turn on the jets or it cycles for heat, the first burst of water that comes out is very cold, and I'm certain it would have been helpful with cost in the long run to have full foam since every hot tub forum I've researched recommended 'full foam' to save electric, esp in our cold northeast climate. Our electric bills are CONSIDERABLY higher, especially in comparison to our previous hot tub that had the full foam insulation, which we owned when electric was higher priced then it is now. Having owned a prior hot tub with full foam to compare to, it definitely is a cost savings, especially over the long run. It makes sense now why he 'recommended' no foam. It's because when there are issues with his product, and I've had 3 so far, 2 of which needed work inside the cabinet, it makes his job easier to make the repairs during warranty..... or shall I say.... will make your job easier since he seems to just want to tell you over the phone how to fix the issues that arise so he don't have to do anything!! In conclusion, once this place gets your money..... don't expect much more from them if you have problems! So.....I hope you have your Spa Repair Handbook handy, because you'll be doing the work, just like me, and/or watching things fall apart with nothing but excuses and false promises to return your calls by this sub-standard company.

Update, 5/19/2017. Mark has made good on his promise to replace my cover, as well as address another new LED lighting issue the tub ended up having etc, but all in all, the issues have all been resolved, and I'm satisfied with the service, but wish the LED lights (approximately 2/3 the tub lighting) failed in a matter of months after installation on my Marquis E660 tub. Mark ordered all new lights and reran them in, which was a difficult job, but Mark did it its all set.

We've called Albany its home for close to 100 years! We know this town, its people and its homes. We are unique -an older community with specific needs when it comes to heating and cooling. We appreciate the tradition and history of Albany’s older homes. But just because our residences come from the era of the model T, doesn’t mean they have to run like one.
Over time, we have become the experts in making sure an older home is running at peak efficiency when it comes to energy consumption. I..
"I needed to replace my hot water heater and wanted it done ASAP. As usual, I checked reviews on Angie's List and called several area plumbers. Most could not get to me for a day or two. When I talked to Benjamin Franklin's contact person, Chris, she took my information, gave me an exact and guaranteed price quote and said someone would get there later in the day. Within 30 minutes, she called back and informed me she found a plumber who would be over within the hour. The technician, Mike S., also called to let me know he was on his way. The replacement required some creative problem-solving, and Mike S. answered the challenge in a calm and intelligent manner. He worked quickly without rushing and explained to me much of what he was doing (I tend to ask a lot of questions). All went very well, including a thorough clean-up, and a careful removal of the old heater. I found the experience as stress-free as a plumbing emergency can go. Next plumbing job I need, I'll most assuredly be calling Benjamin Franklin.
Heavenly Heat Infrared Saunas are made for the chemically sensitive. That means that our infrared saunas create an ideal, safe, and effective detoxification environment for anyone seeking to eliminate toxic substances from their body.
"Terrible! Wish I had gone with another company. Here is the issue with Heavenly Heat. If your sauna arrives damaged or and issue arrives -- they have zero technical support. Your repairs will be done by any "joe" that heavenly heat finds to do the repair in your area. They will have no experience with Sauna's and are given no instructions regarding the chemical free aspect of these sauna's. The worst part is the buyer, me, was treated as if I was the problem for wanting my sauna repaired correctly. I would have refused the delivery had I realized I was receiving a damaged sauna and would have to spend hours and days trying to get this resolved. The owner, Bob Morgan, is extremely responsive before he has your money but after, is a different story. When inquiring about the sauna he would respond generally within 10 minutes. After you purchase, and particularly if you have a problem with it, you are treated as if you're a nuisance. My sister bought a competitors sauna around the same time and the service she received from knowledgable representatives was a world of difference from my experience. My other issue was that there were shipping delays and Bob would never communicate them. I would have to pursue him to get information. I think they make a decent sauna but I would not recommend for reasons stated above.

"They serviced my furnace for the past 2 years, and they pretty good, they will be coming back soon for the maintenance and check of my furnace. They also repaired a plumbing problem for me from the basement and drained out the water."
"In summary: -Purchasing the pool was an easy process. Moe, our sales person, was very helpful -Communication with sub contractors Islander uses is a major issue -If you decide to purchase a pool from Islander, find your own people to finish the project....or even find your own installer. -Islander sells the pool and sub contracts out the install and everything else, you also have to find your own electrician and get the permit. -If you are looking for complete project planning, this is likely not the place for you Our plan was to install the pool, replace a deck from the house and have two steps down to a concrete patio surrounding the pool. Two days before my scheduled install, I had not heard anything from the installer Islander contracts with, Randy. Contacted the store and was told there is a two week delay, which was fine, I just didn't appreciate the lack of communication. Pool was installed on schedule when another installer, Steve, was found. Steve came the night before to discuss location and project details. Pool was installed slightly higher than I expected, which made the pool about the same level as the corner of the house. Found out Steve wouldn't be doing any of the concrete decking, he would only be instaling the pool Call placed to store, was told the originally scheduled installer, Randy would eventually be contacting us about finishing the project but the pool and dirt had to settle Made multiple calls Randy to talk about finishing the concrete. Never got a call back. When I say multiple, I mean about 15-20 calls over a three week period. Husband went to Islander to see if that would get us some info, they called Steve (the installer) who came by our house and essentially said he didn't do concrete (which we knew) and that we should still be able to install the planned deck even though the pool was 18 inches higher than we planned and there were all sorts of modifications we would need to make to accommodate drainage and grade. The longer we looked at the level of the pool, the position of the house and surrounding driveway there just didn't seem to be any way for this plan to work. Ultimately, we scrapped the plan for the deck, found our own concrete contractor and put in a patio from the house and surround the pool, which costs us about $10,000 more than we planned. I like the actual pool, and have no complaints about that product. I don't know that I would reccomend Islander for pool install because their sub-contractors do not call back. I've done quite a few house projects, and I understand delays and timing issues occur, but need and expect communication especially when I'm spending quite a bit of money.
