  He did the job without any problems, he even did an extra power washing of my outdoor furniture. He noticed additional rot and made repairs. He is coming back to do some masonry. Overall a stress free experience for me. I just misunderstood the estimate and he trusted me unlike many who want to be paid in advance and than leave quickly he did all work.   I cannot say enough good things about Aleks and his crew, and it is my pleasure to give them an "A" rating in every category. We started the project with a fairly long list, and the list continued to grow as the work progressed. I have worked with contractors in the past, and I have often experienced resistance to "added work." Not with Aleks. His response was always the same: "No problem." This is our weekend home, so we would usually only see Aleks when we arrived toward the end of their work day on Fridays. The entire crew is very polite and professional.(How often does an entire crew shake your hand as they are leaving?) Over the weekend we would come up with a list of items for Aleks to take a look at or address and email it to him on Sunday night. Without fail, by the following Friday, all of the things on the list were addressed. They made sure the place was cleaned for our arrival and even limited themselves to the use of only one of the bathrooms so the others could be kept pristine. When I first met with Aleks, he was very up front that he could not start the work for a few months. He explained he did it that way because once he started the project, he wanted to be able to dedicate his crew to our project alone. He was true to his word, and his crew was there every weekday from the start of the project to the end. Communications with Aleks, mostly via text, were always polite, professional, and prompt (even on weekends, when I ought not to have been bothering him). I will (and already have) recommended Aleks and AMV Interiors to friends and neighbors, and I would (and will) hire him and his crew again in the futureshow more

  The work went exactly as we expected: very well. It is important to know that this recommendation is not based upon a one-time job. In addition to the dock staining, Kevin Herington and his team have done exterior and interior painting of both of our homes since 2004. My husband and I have yet to be disappointed and we trust Kevin. He has a great attitude on the job, an easy going but professional nature with his clients, and most important, we are happy to attest that the reliability and the consistent quality of the work has stood the test of time. When you hire Kevin Herington Painting, you can expect an accurate and fair estimate of what it will cost, a clear understanding of the exact scope of the work, and an efficient schedule for completion.   Our house had not been painted since we bought it and was starting to fade in places. We called several companies and got quite a few estimates, Rich Lyons, the owner, walked us through the entire painting process. After finding out what our expectations were we realsized we wanted a paint job that was going to last and look nice for a long time. A Brush With Success's proposal was not the lowest, but we felt the most comfortable and secure putting our house in Rich and his crews hands. We picked out a paint color from a sample that looked great. Rich made sure to paint a small section on the house to make sure thats what we wanted. I'm glad he did! It was definately not the right color for our house. Rich helped us pick out a beautiful color for the house and trim that we never would have thought of. They started the job on time and on schedule. The guys were all extremely proffessional and very polite. The outside of the house took a couple of days to paint and everything was kept clean and neat through out the entire project. A couple of weeks later we had a water leak in our basement that damaged drywall, paint and trim. We called A Brush With Success right away and Rich helped us through the insurance process which could have been a nightmare. He made sure all of our damaged property was replaced correctly.   Pat was very helpful from the start. This was somewhat last minute at the end of the season (just completed the work Oct. 5th). We contacted Pat in late August and he gave us the date he planned to do the work (Oct. 1st). Considering the difficulty in estimating the time needed for work he had already booked, and having to factor in weather, I was VERY happy that he was able to stick to the schedule. The property that was painted was a cottage in the 1000 Islands. We got two quotes from local contractors, one was astronomical, the other was slightly less than Whelehan, but couldn't guarantee starting this season. We may have gotten a better price from someone local to the cottage if we had planned better. That said, Pat really came through. The place looks great. Pat took a crew up and stayed at the cottage. They left the place very clean, and were able to do some extra work that wasn't originally planned. The cottage itself isn't that large, but it has two porches and a huge amount of detail work. Also included was the painting of a detached single car shed. I believe Pat has before/after pics of the property on Facebook or some other site (ask him). The difference is remarkable.
