"Every year, I hire someone to mow my lawn which looks nice, but being a large sized lawn with garden beds, tree rows of cedars and other places that become like a jungle every single year, I have to hire additional people to tame the jungle so to speak and it is a lot of work! So this year, I hired Anthony, owner of Lakeland Lawn and Tree for the first time and he did an outstanding job taming the jungle, putting down soil and grass seed so that the hedge rows that used to be problematic can now be just mowed and he addressed every single area that needed to be cleared to perfection! Anthony is a wonderful person to work with and he is always about listening to what the the customer wants and needs done and he makes sure it is done right! I am so grateful to have found him!"

"We hired REEM to handle a major seasonal cleanup and debris disposal for our commercial office park, and they exceeded our expectations. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completely transformed our landscape. They cleared away all the heavy brush, fallen branches, and winter debris, leaving the parking lots and green spaces spotless. Their hauling and disposal service was fast and left no mess behind. Communication was clear from start to finish, and the pricing was very fair. We will definitely use them for our ongoing property maintenance. Highly recommended for any business looking for reliable grounds care!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. Hardscaping—including installing patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, and water features—is challenging and time-consuming, so the money you spend on a professional is typically worth it. Not only will the quality be better, but you could avoid problems that come along with a lack of hardscaping experience, like drainage issues that can lead to costly foundation damage and leaks in your home.

Don’t worry if there’s a gap between cutting and planting an ideal branch. You can still cut the perfect branch when you see it. If you can’t get it in a pot or water right away, put it in a zip-top bag in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to finish the process, make a fresh cut.

The best way to landscape your front yard on a budget is to invest in hiring a professional for hardscaping—things like upgrading walkways, redoing driveways, and installing partitions around garden beds. You can often do the softscaping yourself—think laying down mulch, caring for your lawn, removing weeds, and planting flowers and shrubs. It’s also almost always worthwhile to pay a professional for routine yard maintenance, as this dramatically improves curb appeal and delivers above 100% ROI in most cases.

Buying plants from a nursery is one thing, but ensuring that they are properly planted is another. While you might not need to hire a landscaper for every plant that you buy from a nursery, it’s a great idea to have their expertise and experience to plant larger items, like burlapped trees or specialty plants like rose bushes. Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.

In addition to aloe vera and lilac, other effective humidity-reducing plants include peace lilies, Boston ferns, English ivy, spider plants, and lucky bamboo. These plants thrive in humid environments and can naturally lower moisture levels. Place them in areas prone to dampness for the best results.
