"We had a large area of brush and stumps that need to be cleared, graded, top soiled, and seeded. I also had some landscape trimming to do around my house. Within a few hours of posting this job, John Rio was at my house. He listened attentively to my needs, asked clarifying questions, and gave me a verbal estimate right on the spot, followed by a written estimate. His price was very fair considering the scope of work. John showed up when he said he would, did the work with efficiency, His team was focused on my complete satisfaction and went the extra mile when some large rocks had to be removed, and several trees felled. I am very pleased with the result. Iâ ve already hired Next Generation to do a second job."

"Miller Construction Group did an outstanding job on our stamped concrete patio. From the initial planning to the final finish, everything was handled professionally and with great attention to detail. The craftsmanship is top-tier?the pattern, color, and overall finish came out even better than we expected. The crew was on time, organized, and kept the jobsite clean. The project was completed on schedule, and the results completely transformed our outdoor space. ""I switched over to Salt City Lawn Care in 2019 and boy am I glad I did. They did a fantastic job with weed treatment and greening up our lawn. I now have the best looking lawn in the neighborhood. They provide fast friendly service but best of all, there were NONE of those aggravating, never ending, phone calls with sales pitches for treatments I don't want or need. I'm definitely in for 2020 and beyond!""

Small jobs welcome

"Caleb did great job clearing a very large, heavy pile of dirt we had. He responded back to texts in an appropriate time frame. Was on time for job and completed the job and didn’t leave until it was done to our liking. Very reasonable price. Will reach out to him again when needed. Thank you Caleb!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Unless it only rains once in a blue moon where you live, you’re going to want water-loving plants in your garden bed or pot. A few ideas for plants that aren’t super fast-growing (meaning they’re good in pots or near foundations) and can handle a lot of standing water include:

  • Acorus (Sweet flag)

  • Colocasia esculenta (Taro or elephant ear): In many climates, these are annuals, making them less desirable because you need to adjust the chain again after each replant.

  • Equisetum scirpoides (Dwarf horsetail rush): non-dwarf varieties of horsetail are fast growers and can take over quickly.

  • Juncus effusus (Curly rush)

  • Osmunda regalis (Royal fern): Royal fern can grow quickly but can also handle being crowded, making them good container plants.

There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.

While both fall and spring are suitable times of the year for planting trees, fall is typically the better option. Soil stays warm long enough to allow tree roots to establish in fall before they go dormant, while spring might give way to intense summer heat before spring-planted trees have time to grow strong roots.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.
