As it turns out, we did not have a problem after all and the pile of debris we were seeing was caused by a gap in the foundation and fine silt coming in rather than actual ant or termite debris. Jake thoroughly explained what we would have seen if we did have a problem and what ant and termite debris looked like. He then continued to inspect other areas just to be sure. All was well and he did not try a sales pitch for anything further. We respected him even more for this. The inspection was free of charge. "It went as well as it could have. I first contacted this company for a second estimate (the first was a lot more, by about $100.00) on a Monday and I had an appointment scheduled for that Wednesday, two days later, between noon and 2 PM. The technician, Josh, called when he was about 15 minutes away, showing up around 1:30. He got right to work in removing it, and once the hornets had died, he broke it apart to show me the inside. (Even though it was a nest of stinging insects, I must admit that the intricate structure within was amazing. He took the time to explain how the hornets and hive fuctioned, which was really interesting - - he missed his true calling, in that he should have been an entomologist.) If I ever have the need for hive removal again, I would call Absolute Pest Control without a second thought, and have absolutely no reservations about recommending this company to friends!!!!! Overall, with the senior discount, I felt the price was very fair; I had checked on-line to get an idea of the average cost of nest removal, and this company’s pricing was well within reason. "I own and manage several properties that were built over 50 years ago and decided that it would be a good idea to have them all inspected with regards to all chimneys, dampers and flues.  I wanted to make sure the occupants were protected against carbon monoxide leaks and the properties protected against fire threat.  I contacted Skyline because they were recommended by several other property managers whose opinions I respect.  I'm glad I did.
When Skyline came out they explained to me, as well as some of the curious occupants, why it is important to make sure all the flues were clear, aligned, and chimney structure intact and solid.  They took their time explaining and were very clear.

The estimates they gave me were fair and accurate.  As they did their work they were able to identify several instances where the terra-cotta flues were cracked and had shifted.  This caused poor flow and presented a danger.  Their recommendations to replace the flues were appropriate and the costs were fair, even below market price compared to some of the larger providers.  Because of their craftsmanship  I decided that while they were there I should have them do some additional work replacing masonry and roofing.
Going into this project I knew that there was the potential for major issues and might even require replacing all chimneys at all sites.  You can't see what's going on inside a chimney until you have someone get in their for you but the safety of the occupants and properties was going to be worth it.  Gladly, Skyline was able to do the work and didn't try to up-sell me anything I did't need.
