"I wouldn’t get my tree service done by anyone else! Timberline was extremely responsive, helpful and efficient. I spoke with Chris on the phone about having someone come look at my trees and Benjamin was at my home later that day. Benjamin was honest about what trees needed to come down and the price he gave was competitive and very reasonable. I am very happy with the work the Timberline crew did for me and I will definitely be calling again if I have any need for their services in the future!"

"Excellent. the back to back Nor'easters pummeled Westchester and all the tree services were backed up....Bill Demarest's team got to us quickly, assessed the risks of our partially downed tree and planned the work accordingly. they did a great job, neat, professional, took a lot of care in protecting the surrounding areas as they took down a very big sugar maple and removed a huge branch from that tree that fell in my side yard. They are great!"

"As a retired person, Responsiveness, quality of work, and especially fair pricing are extremely important to me. Jaime assured me at our first meeting that I would be happy upon completion and I am. A small tree was taken down and removed, depressions in the lawn were filled and seeded, and a fifty foot section of an old stone wall was totally cleared of old Grape vines, leaves and pricker bushes. I would highly recommend JDA General Contracting. The end result at my house is awesome and I am ready for spring!"

"Eduardo and his crew do beautiful work. They are thorough, on time, responsive, and reasonably priced. This is my regular company for my yard work for many years now. They occasionally prune my trees as well and have removed some trees for me. They are excellent and I highly recommend them."

"Galvez Tree Service was the best decision we made for cutting down the dangerous dead trees on our property! They were professional, reliable and reasonable! Ivan responded immediately to get in touch to give an estimate. Came on time walked my whole property with me. Discussed the options and gave us a very fair price. The crew and Ivan arrived on time, got straight to work, completed the job safely and timely! Cleaned up EVERYTHING ! They put the trunks where we asked and dumped the mulch where we could easily spread it! We will have them back to do some pruning in the fall! Thank you"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Palm tree stumps can take as long as seven to ten years to rot naturally. Whereas some tree stumps rot within a year, palm trees tend to last longer due to their deep root networks. Chemical rotting (described above) can help speed the process up so your palm tree stumps rot in under two months.

Dying trees and even dead trees can spread diseases to other living trees. There are many different types of tree diseases, so it’s essential to address the issue as soon as possible to prevent the disease from spreading to other healthy trees. If the tree cannot be saved and is infected, you need to have it removed to protect the other trees on your property.

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property). Whether or not they top these trees depends on their approach to pruning. You won’t be able to do much to control this, but you can contact them to find out more about their pruning process.

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.
