"They came over right away and climbed around on the roof to determine the problem. They also showed me other issues with the slate roof on my workshop and the entryway roof (which I knew needed replacing). They also took care of the roof area of the pediment, which I also knew needed to be fixed. They did it all and even worked New Years Eve and day."

"What an efficient team Kenny and John were! Meticulous attention to detail! They did a great job taking out 2 old Andersen casements and installing 2 new beautiful double hunts! Their work was neat and precise. Hold onto these 2 gems! I would definitely recommend RBA to anyone considering replacement windows! Thank you so much."

"Excellent contractor! Very knowledgeable with simple and effective explanation. This service provider was able to successfully rebuild window trim, insulate/foam, and paint a great number of exterior windows efficiently. I definitely plan on hiring again. Great integrity and honesty with with a wide variety of skill. I've saved this company's contact information to hopefully help me do some insulation/sealing/weatherproofing in my basement."

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"I waited a while because they are backed up due to Covid but they were definitely worth the wait. They were precise, quick and extremely detailed. They put two windows in for me (where windows didn't exist before) and covered up a window. They insulated and everything. No painting but that was cool. I was very impressed. Definitely would recommend them and hire them again...and again....and again"

Small jobs welcome

"Etmond reached out quickly after I inquired and then we were able to set up a time to review the projects. He did an exceptional job including tweaks to or replacement of our kitchen cupboards hinges, replacement of curtain rods with accompanying installation of blinds, and new door hardware and lock. He was friendly, reliable, professional and his pricing was very competitive. I definitely plan to hire him again and have already started preparing a future list of projects for the spring season. "The first time they did not order hinges that were the correct size. However, they replaced these. They came and made some corrections, including on my stairs. The whole job took a long time but they did good work. I sent some questions to them by mail but they said they did not receive any mail. Some of the workers they sent to do the work were very nice. I have a warranty for the work so, hopefully, everything will be fine."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

While finding your mirror cracked can be spooky, there are actually many logical and common reasons why this happens. First, the mirror may have been mounted unevenly in the first place. Over time, poor mounting leads to stress points that will eventually cause a mirror to crack. Other common causes of a mirror spontaneously cracking include dramatic temperature shifts, strong thunder or a loud crash somewhere in the distance, exposure to heat and sunlight, and an uneven wall in your home. It's also possible that your mirror had a manufacturing defect or microscopic cracks that occurred during glass cutting or handling that eventually caused it to shatter.

You can hang bathroom mirrors in either orientation—vertical or horizontal. Factors like the bathroom layout, lighting design, vanity size, and mirror shape and size may make one orientation more practical. For example, a tall vanity with a tall faucet and low-hanging light fixtures may force a horizontal orientation for a rectangular or oval-shaped mirror. Looking at bathroom mirror ideas can help you decide which you like best.

Generally, large bathroom mirrors that have been secured to the wall with glue require a multistep removal process. By taping the mirror with masking tape or duct tape, you can potentially prevent dangerous shards from falling as you loosen the mirror. A heat gun or other heat source may be needed to loosen up the glue before it can be freed using a wire saw. With glued-down mirrors being the most dangerous to remove, it's wise to hire a professional instead of handling glass on your own.

If you decide to forgo your old windows and upgrade them to modern day technology, there may be some people interested in the old windows. You can try selling them on an online marketplace for around $50 to $100 each (so long as the window wasn’t damaged during the removal). This can also help off set the overall price to replace them.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.
