"This is the second time we've used Ed and his company. After the construction I had done, the house was filled with the very fine dust from all of the dry wall. It gets everywhere. Ed and his team came in and CLEANED every inch of the house. I mean everything was dusted. Once again they were AMAZING. The house is spotless again. They also cleaned the stovetop hood again so it was degreased again. Kitchen cabinets spotless, rugs cleaned, windows, floors shined, everything dust free. No drama, no problems, just a clean house! Also again Ed gave me an estimate and even though the work was more than he originally thought it was he stood by his price. I can't recommend Down to Earth Cleaning Services and Ed enough."

Range Hoods questions, answered by experts

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.
