"L&N Builders Group installed my Cali Bamboo flooring incorrectly. They did not take the necessary leveling steps to ensure a proper subfloor and the flooring is splintering and harming myself and my young kids. There is deflection all throughout the install and the floor cannot handle it. Cali (who I bought the floor from), hired an investigator whom reported L&N were at fault. L&N had a project manager that was starting to help us resolve the issue and one day, he was fired from L&N. I called the owner and he wanted no part in helping us resolve our issue. Beware of this company. They are what you fear in a construction company. They take your money and ignore that they have any responsibility for the outcome, they even fire their employees to eliminate liability."

Our vision is to bring architecture to everyone. We want the renovations of our homes and businesses to be easy, personal, and accessible. Design should bring value while reflecting the complexity of our lives. As a new service from Bright Architecture, Sixthirty provides affordable, custom design packages that brings personal and professional architecture services to small residential and commercial renovations. The design packages are priced per room, per shop, per floor area and broken out into a menu of separate design phases. By using 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, proprietary internal design processes, focusing on the customer, and leveraging our industry experience, Sixthirty re-conceives architecture as an affordable catalog of professional services with design, documentation, and project assistance packages.

"We loved working with Holly and the team at SixThirty so much that we hugely increased the scope of our work. First we just wanted a bathroom and a kitchen updated but we loved the plans and the possibility they brought to our space so much that we got designs for every space. Any renovation becomes a drag, but working with Holly and the team was very satisfying and filled us with ideas for our new space. She and her colleagues, especially Michael and Amy, were great, even though we had a million questions and wanted to know "why" for every decision. I can't recommend this service enough, especially for the ability to try out design in a small space and then get addicted and want to do more!"

Who we are: a group of architectural engineers and design build experts who want to help you build smarter. What we do: We help you make sure your new home build or important renovation will be done in the best way for your budget and personality. We'll help you think about how beauty intersects with function so that you can happily and comfortably live in a home that fits your unique needs. Why we do it: It's too easy to assume you're stuck between an inexpensive cookie cutter modular home or a bank-breaking custom build. ADA renovations? Forget about it! But this isn't true. Our team cares about the future of affordable living, and together we can make it happen.

"WARNING: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! We hired Building Data Labs for drawings for a separate entry way into an upstairs room of a customer's home. The original plan was to make stairs on the outside of the home as the separate entry way however was told by BDL that this would trigger codes and it would be a nightmare to be approved by the town which now come to find out wasn't true at all according to the town, inspector, and contractor. They drew us new plans going on the inside of the garage. This took over 4 months and we paid them in full on site which included the architectural stamp. A total of $2000. When we FINALLY received the plans there was no stamp and the plans said "not for construction use". So we reached out to them and they asked for more information regarding the house. WE ALREADY PAID THEM TO GET ALL THE INFORMATION. We finally got the plans and were given a permit from the town and followed the plans. THE PLANS FAILED INSPECTION. I requested a refund since the plans are rendered basically unusable and we spent time following these plans with labor costs and materials and was told no by Sharan Muthalyalil because they have already done the "professional work" which I contacted the actual license engineer who stamped the plans to ask why he would stamp them and he said he didn't know these people and never stamped these plans. HUGE RED FLAG. Erin Horanzy the initial contact we dealt with is virtually impossible to contact and apparently traveling a lot according to Sharan. So at this point we have useless plans and wasted a total of 6+ months with this company. DO NOT HIRE THEM. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. We are in the process of taking legal action."

A construction manager is particularly useful in the case of a large-scale build with custom design elements, so it’s usually worth it to hire one. They can help manage your budget, maintain quality control, oversee timelines, and navigate unexpected hurdles. While construction managers are pricey, they can actually save money in the long run by identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring the project stays within budget.

Building a house without blueprints is not advised. It will prevent you from obtaining necessary building permits and meeting building codes and is likely to result in shoddy construction and unsafe living conditions. Detailed blueprints ensure that a house is built to exact specifications and is constructed safely and structurally stable.

Federal and Colonial architecture are similar in that they both appear mostly utilitarian and symmetrical, but Federal architecture is a bit more ornate. Federal design often includes decorative palladium windows, window lintels, and, sometimes, columns surrounding a more decorative portico. Inside, Federal architecture is set apart by its centrally-located oval room. Additionally, Federal homes tend to have brick facades, whereas Colonial homes more often have wood siding.

The design phase varies by project size and complexity; initial ideas can take weeks, while extensive plans may extend to months for complete detailing.

Yes, architects help navigate local zoning laws, acquire necessary permits, and ensure compliance with regulations, reducing delays and costly modifications.
