At Mohonk Exteriors we strive for 100% customer service and satisfaction. We love what we do because we are good at what we do. We are locally owned and operated and have been serving New Paltz and its surrounding areas since 2014. Call us today, you won't be disappointed!

"Rob came out, gave us a fair bid, and a crew started the work on time. From what I can tell (without going up on the roof), the quality of the work was good (no leaks yet). However, they did not complete the job before the weather got too cold to continue and they packed up for the winter something last November, 2021. As I write this review, it is September 2022, and I have been waiting 10 months for the roofing job to be completed. For the last three months, Rob has not been returning my calls or texts, so I am stuck with an unfinished job that I will probably have to find someone else to complete."

A Family Tradition 1921. We here at Worker Bees, take pride in our reputation for total customer satisfaction. It can be seen in the work we do. Larry the present owner is third generation with over 39 years of experience alone. He jokes they would be fourth is he could only get his son up. You can rest easy knowing that a qualified and professional contractor will be taking care of your household projects. Call us today for your free estimate. We look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for considering NY Worker Bee's Inc.

"Completely thorough, professional, and worth the money and time. I had met with several deck builders. None of them informed me about the paperwork involved with the town. They simply wanted to get hired, get paid, and start. Larry was the ONLY one who supplied a portfolio of previous jobs. He also explained the lengthy permit process, which I confirmed with Town Hall. This was an eye opening and MASSIVE plus!!! Walt and Chris worked tirelessly and meticulously to build our beautiful deck and Larry was on hand occasionally to supervise. He kept us informed us during every step of the process. The result is a BEAUTIFUL deck that has been cleared by the town. I cannot emphasize just how happy we are with the entire process and the finished job. Do your research first, and then stick with NY Worker Bees. You will not only be happy with the end result but you will also save yourself $$ and a massive headache as well as seeing the value and correctness of your decision."

FAQs for contractor service projects in Pleasant Valley, NY

Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.

General contractors are the ones that coordinate home construction projects. They are in charge of the day-to-day oversight of the subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and to resolve problems as they arise. General contractors:

  • Complete pre-construction planning, both with the customer and crew

  • Provide realistic cost estimates

  • Develop construction timelines

  • Ensure deadlines are met

  • Acquire permits as needed

  • Purchase supplies and materials

Before hiring a general contractor for your home project, it’s a great idea to write down a list of questions to discuss with each prospect. Some example questions to get you started include:

  • Which types of insurance do you carry?

  • Can you provide a list of references?

  • What is the expected timeline for this project?

  • How will my project be supervised?

  • Will you hire subcontractors for the job?

  • What is the best way to communicate changes?

  • Will you obtain all of the required building permits?

While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Yes, most general contractors require a down payment for project completion. A reasonable down payment for a contractor is 10% to 25% of the total project cost, though that will vary based on project size and location. The down payment helps cover the upfront costs of materials and permits and helps ensure payment for the project at hand.
