"We had a flawless long distance move with “Syracuse Trailer & Moving”. They were the only moving company that would work within our time frame. Communication was excellent. They were clearly experienced, courteous and positive. Avoid the nonsense of contractors and middle men. I highly recommend Josh with “Syracuse Trailer & Moving”."

"They responded quickly to my request, though I had to contact them for confirmation the day before the move. The 2 guys showed up on time, were friendly and did good work. They didn't seem to have an established process of booking customers and there were some details that could have been clarified before the work, but overall I was happy with the work. It's always a relief to find honest people when you just move to a new town."

"Couldn?t have asked for a better experience! Hired Goodview Moving and Storage crew to help move some furniture. It wasn?t a full move ? just a few heavy items ? but they treated it seriously and didn?t rush. They even called to confirm a few details before heading out. Loved how the experience turned out!"

"Hired Interior Moving Services to move household contents from a 10 x 20 storage unit to our new home. Chris H and Jesse showed up early and got right to work. They were professional, quick and very careful. Very pleased with them and would definitely hire them again for any move."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Most moving companies don’t charge by weight or volume unless you’re freight shipping items. The cost of hiring movers typically depends on the number of movers and time spent on the task.

If you need to move heavy furniture inside your house, like a grandfather clock, consider hiring professional movers for this service, too. Many moving companies advertise in-house moving services, including transporting heavy items to different rooms or floors of the house. It’s best to hire professional movers for this task to avoid damaging parts of your home, like narrow stairways or flooring, or the item during the process.

Pool tables are exceptionally heavy, some weighing as much as 2,500 pounds. As a result, they require multiple movers to move, and because of their size, it's difficult to get them upstairs or around tight corners. You can save money on pool table moving by using your own packing supplies and disassembling them before movers arrive.

The best way to move a 3-bedroom house long distance depends on your budget. Hiring a full-service moving company works best if you have a higher budget. If you’re on a tighter budget, renting a moving van and doing everything yourself is your best bet. Other options include renting a storage container, pod, or freight container. You can also ship your belongings if you don’t have many items.

To treat office moving costs as capital expenses, which means recording them as assets, they must meet certain rules: they need to be essential for the business to keep running, directly related to the move, reasonable, and documented properly with invoices and contracts. These costs can include packing, transportation, and setting up the new office. Once these expenses are capitalized, they're treated like assets on the books and gradually accounted for over time through depreciation or amortization.
