"I got quotes from three different local firms. I was very impressed with Chris' knowledge (I'm an engineer and asked a lot of questions). Much better price than the other two for basically the same equipment. His crew did a great job, very detailed oriented, didn't leave till everything was in place and tested. A new thermostat was installed, I didn't like some of the features. He was happy to replace it and send me a different model at no cost. The customer comes first, very nice attitude."

"Will was very professional and knowledgeable in the repairs needed. Informed me of future repairs that may or would help my A/C. I would definitely hire him again. PS: he was there to fix my A/C and noticed my hot water heater ventilation was not correctly hooked up and made sure it was correctly installed."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.

In some cases, conversion kits are available, but not all boilers are compatible. Conversion may require significant modifications and should only be performed by a qualified professional. Before making a decision, compare conversion costs to the cost of a complete replacement to determine the most cost-effective and reliable option for your home.

Since your boiler keeps you warm and provides hot water to your home, you’re likely to notice issues with heating in your living space right away. The most obvious sign that your boiler is breaking is not getting any heat or hot water. You might also hear some odd sounds coming from your boiler during operation, the flame in your gas boiler is not blue, the pressure is inconsistent, or your boiler is using more energy than it should. If you notice any of these signs, be sure to call a pro right away.

One of the easiest ways to determine which type of furnace will work best for your home is to contact a professional in your area. Many HVAC companies offer free consultations to help potential customers determine if they need a new system and which type would work best for their home and the community’s climate.

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and technical expertise required. Hire licensed professionals.
