"Carlos was contacted to repair and refinish my granite kitchen counter but I discovered he had additional skills. He not only repaired my granite counters but also installed a new tile backsplash, repainted the kitchen cabinets, installed new granite and custom fireplace mantel and painted the interior of my house. His entire crew was very professional and courteous."

"I was desperate. My new stove came 2 days before Thanksgiving and didn't fit, by less than 1/8th inch! Matt came the next morning to shave off the edge of the counter so it would fit. He returned the following week to fill cracks in the granite behind my sink. I have been searching for someone for a year! Very knowledgeable, did a very clean job, including resealing the silicone inside around the sink edges, and was a true gentleman. Well worth the reasonable fee he asked for,"

"Pacific Stone and Tiles came to measure and showed about 6 choices for granite selection for the offer price. We were working with our own interior designer and we were on FaceTime with her. She nixed the 6 choices so Pacific Stone showed us another granite which was from India and was mostly white with few markings and some reddish-brownish highlights. The effect of this Indian granite was white and it coordinated nicely with our maple cabinets. Our interior designer told us to choose that and we agreed to pay Pacific Stone $1000. more for this granite from India. No name was given for this new granite in writing. When the day of installation came, the old countertop was removed. I did not think to go out and look at the granite in the truck before installation. The installation was done very efficiently and very nicely. However, the countertop did not look like what we were expecting. The color effect was gray with many markings. We were expecting a whitish granite and got gray. I asked to see the original sample that we had been shown when we selected the white granite but they did not have it on the truck. I contacted Pacific Stone and they emailed me a photo of what they said was the granite sample they showed me, but it did not look what they showed me. The granite we got was called moon white on the final bill but it had no name on the original invoice we signed. I made a number of inquiries about the discrepancy between the granite color we expected and what we received. Pacific Stone said there are natural variations in the appearance of each granite variety. However, we paid $1000 more because we thought we were getting the granite color we and our interior designer viewed and chose. I don't think I got the granite we selected and feel I paid $1000 too much. I now have to figure out how to get the granite to coordinate with the maple cabinets as well as regretting that I paid $1000 more than I should have."

"I recently upgraded my kitchen countertops with All Service Specialists, and I couldn't be happier. Their selection of natural stone surfaces is impressive. From the initial consultation to the installation, the process was seamless. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and my kitchen looks stunning. The durability of their stone surfaces is a bonus. Highly recommended!"

"I had a signed contract with Home Depot to install a kitchen counter top but could not find a granite slab that we liked.  Steve came recommeded to me by a good friend.  He took us to couple of places and then recommended a couple of places that we can go visit and pick out slabs.  His guys came out as scheduled to make templates and then can and professionally installed the counters as agreed to.  They were very professional, and cleaned-up after themselves.  What I liked and respect the most about working Steve was his honesty and the fact that he delivered as agreed to.
I have highly recommended him to many friends and family.  I will never go to another counter guy again.

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

Some of the cheapest ways to change granite countertops without replacing them include painting, honing, or changing the finish, covering them with tile or laminate, and using countertop contact paper. Dollar for dollar, applying countertop film is the cheapest, easiest, and most reversible way to update the look of your countertops. No matter what you choose, remember that permanently marring the original countertops can cost you money when you’re trying to sell your home, so make smart choices and preserve the integrity of the granite.

The cost of stone restoration typically ranges from $5 to $10 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the type of stone, the extent of the damage, the level of polish required, and the labor intensity of the job.

Buffing will only remove scratches at the surface level of your flooring. You may also need to apply hardwood floor wax to restore the wax layer. To remove deeper scratches, you’ll need another floor repair method like sanding; however, if you sand the floor, you’ll also need to stain and seal it.

No, you cannot use vinegar to polish marble. It is too acidic for cleaning or polishing and can etch the surface. Instead, opt for non-acidic cleaners made specifically for marble. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to ensure proper application and to protect the marble. However, a damp mop can be an effective marble cleaner when used appropriately and as long as moisture is immediately soaked up.

Yes, you can repair a stone countertop yourself for minor issues like small chips or scratches, and DIY repair kits are available for this purpose. However, for larger problems such as major cracks or significant stains, DIY repairs may not be effective. In these cases, professional services are recommended to ensure a seamless finish, prevent further damage, and use the proper materials and techniques for a full restoration.
