"Fantastic...they came when scheduled and completed the job in a timely manner. Cleanup was done as they went along and the grounds looked better when they were finished than when they started. They did a great job and would definitely hire them again!!!,"

"It took a while to get an estimate, was submitted and approved by the insurance company, I paid the insurance deducible to them. They said they would start in 30 - 45 days and complete in 30 days. They came back and said they under estimated the cost of materials, they submitted the change to the insurance company who declined the increase. I allowed them to delete part of the scope to stay within the insurance payment. Eight months later, after monthly reasons for not starting "to busy, can't get a subcontractor, need to measure again, windows on order" they demanded a 50% deposit up front and the materials are not in or work scheduled. I sent them the article that Angie's List sent out warning of roofing scams they "are backing away from the project and are going to bill me for the materials""

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A shingle roof costs between $7,500 and $24,000 in total. The exact cost depends on the size of your roof and the number of bundles of shingles required. A bundle of shingles typically costs between $40 and $60, though contractors might be able to get a lower price than you’d get buying from a local hardware store.

Tar and gravel roofs last an average of 30 years, which is longer than the average lifespan of many other flat roofs. The gravel on top of the waterproof membrane helps protect the roof from UV damage and physical damage, so if you keep your roof drains clear and carry out annual roof inspections to catch issues early, you could see up to 40 years of useful life from your roof.

Torch down roofing is only one of the options available for your home. Depending on your type of roof, if it is a gable or hip roof, torch down roofing might not work for you due to the slope. Asphalt, metal, and clay shingles are just a few popular roofing options that may be more suitable.

A tarp can temporarily stop a roof leak, but how long the solution works heavily depends on the placement and size of the leak. While a tarp can be a temporary solution, it’s crucial to have a professional inspect and repair the leak as soon as possible to implement a permanent fix.

The terms “roof shingles” and “roof tiles” are sometimes used interchangeably, but the term “shingles” most often refers to asphalt, rubber, metal, or slate shingles, and the term “tiles” normally means they’re made from clay or concrete. In all cases, shingles are small, rectangular components that a roofer layers in an overlapping pattern to protect the structure underneath from the elements.
