"It was a great pleasure to work with Paul. He is very considerate and accommodating. He communicated very well before and during the installation. He offered life time warranty of the fence, which provides peace of mind. Highly recommend!"

"My Sister & Brother in law just bought a house in the Bethlehem area. They left NJ because of very steep and quick rising taxes there among other issues. They needed a fence quickly because they have been rescuing Grey Hound dogs for decades from the abuse of the Dog Racing Owners and the Dogs need to run at least twice a day. So I set up estimates for the fencing which had to come first. One Nationally known company didn't even show up for the estimate and several other well known National Companies where so expensive they nearly doubled the inflation calculations on fencing I did for my Sister. Scott's Property Services were clearly the exception. They gave a great price and did an excellent job to better specifications than the Big companies said they would provide for much more money. From the depth of cement grounding of the Fence posts to the gauge of the chain link. An absolutely top notch job that was finished in a few days for a lower price by far of anyone around. My Sister and her Husband were extremely pleased with Scott's Property Services quality and work ethic. I've lived in PA for 20 years and my Sister & her husband got to see the kind of people and craftsmanship in Pennsylvania that I've been mentioning for years. If you need Property work or Home Improvement you would be cheating yourself if you didn't call Scott's Company in for a quote on the work you want done on your property. Thank you, Sam White"

"Jorge and crew were wonderful! They did everything from rewiring things in the house to fixing damaged siding. Absolutely beautiful work. They built new steps for the front and back of my house that are far nicer than I could have imagined. They were all wonderful to have around, prompt, professional, courteous and most importantly very skilled. They went above and beyond! I will absolutely be using them for future projects.

"I am so, SOOO glad I found Andrew! I have a snow blower but after having had several slips and falls while snow blowing, I decided that doing this on my own is not the best option for me any more. I called Andrew and he was extremely prompt and very courteous. He checks in with me since I don't really feel that my driveway needs to be plowed unless there is 6 inches or more. I can let him know that since I'm working from home right now that he can fit me in when I do need the driveway plowed. I HIGHLY recommend him!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Galvanized metal, vinyl, and composite fences are known to be the longest-lasting options, often surviving for over 30 years with proper care. Metal fences, including galvanized chain link and aluminum, can look great for decades because the galvanization process adds a protective coating that resists weather and pests. Similarly, vinyl and composite materials are resistant to pests and can withstand harsh weather for many years. In comparison, a typical wood fence lasts about 15 years, and a standard vinyl fence has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.

On most untreated wood fences, there is no need to sand before treating. You typically only need to sand if there’s an old coat of paint or stain on your fence. If you do need to sand off a previous paint or protective coating (like an old stain or sealant), use medium-grit sandpaper.

A barbed wire fence will last an average of 15 to 20 years, but the life expectancy can range anywhere between five and 50 years. Thicker wires last longer, as do fences made with galvanized metal. If the barbed wire fence is in a climate with harsh winters and summers, it likely won’t last more than 10 to 15 years. Failing to keep up with maintenance and repairs will also shorten the lifespan of a barbed wire fence.

When your rolls of silt fence join together, you’ll want to overlap them to make sure they’re still as effective at keeping water out without requiring fastening together. Overlap two sections of the silt fencing so that two sheets of fabric cover the span of two posts. If you want to fasten them together, you can staple them or use a zip tie, depending on whether your posts are metal or wood.

Yes, in many cases, homeowners insurance covers the cost to repair or replace a fence. Home insurance policies typically protect your home and other structures on your property, which often includes fences. If the fence is damaged by a covered event, such as a storm, fire, or vandalism, your insurer may cover some or all of the cost. However, coverage does not extend to damage caused by natural wear and tear, owner negligence, insufficient maintenance, or improper installation.
