However, I do feel that I was overcharged for the work and would definitely recommend negotiating (and getting a 2nd opinion). "The job took 1.5 days because I had moved everything to the center of the basement. They had 5+ feet of clearance around the perimeter, with plastic covering hung from floor joists. The dust still managed to cover everything behind the plastic walls. My advice: do a thorough job of sealing the space or be prepared to have a big dust cleanup. Only disappointment was that the drain at the foot of the steps to the bilco doors was positioned directly below the internal door. You cannot install a sill on top of this so when finishing we will now have a dangerous transition. This was never explained. Otherwise, a great crew."

"I hired MV Masonry to repair a block retaining wall. After speaking to Mike he advised me to build a new one. I received a few other quotes first but went with Mike because he truly seemed like the only honest person I spoke to and he didn’t cut any corners. I know the wall is going to hold up. Mike was incredibly responsive and is very knowledgeable about what he’s doing.
