"Job turned out to be a little more complicated than anticipated. Soffits were pulled back, and a huge nest was removed. I will follow up in a week, but, right now, looks like they're gone. Brian showed up right on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up afterwards. An excellent experience."

"I woke up to find my kitchen overwhelmed with carpenter ants. One call to Steve at A-1 No Nonsense Pest Control and we had an appointment scheduled for the next day. Steve provided me with pricing information and was very upfront about what the % of success could be treating the ant infestation. When Daniel showed up, he was very professional, did a walk through inspection of the house and quickly got busy assessing where the treatments needed to be applied. He let me know where I needed to take care of standing water around the house and even let me know where he had found a mouse nest in the cellar. The price was very reasonable for the services completed by Daniel. Kudos to Steve and his Team. I will gladly recommend his company to any of my friends who need pest control."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

While there are many types of wood-eating pests, the most common one in the United States is termites. They are found in every state and are typically worse in warm and humid climates. They cause billions of dollars in damage every year, which is why it’s vital that homeowners address infestations as soon as possible.

Roof rats can carry a variety of pathogens and parasites, including salmonellosis (food contamination), leptospirosis, trichinosis, rat-bite fever, murine typhus, plague, and toxoplasmosis. Diseases can be spread via urine, droppings, or saliva. To prevent transmission, it’s essential to promptly address a roof rat infestation and avoid direct contact with the animals where possible.

Spiders love dark, quiet, and protected places, especially when it comes to laying their eggs. Egg sacs are hidden in small webs that you may find in rarely-used wall corners and ceilings. Spiders are somewhat more likely to lay egg sacs against a house or inside a home to preserve them from the elements. These egg sacs are very durable and can hatch in anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

These are the signs of bed bugs to look out for:

  • Blood or rust-colored stains on mattresses, fabrics, or upholstery

  • Dark spots of excrement that look like dots from a fine-tipped permanent marker

  • Tiny eggshells and yellowish shed skins

Generally, squirrels are not considered aggressive toward humans. They are more likely to flee than confront people. However, like many animals, they may exhibit aggressive behavior if they feel threatened or cornered. If you approach a squirrel too closely or try to handle it, especially if it's a mother protecting her young, it may resort to defensive tactics such as biting or scratching.
