Customers say: Quick response

"I called for an estimate on Monday and by Wed. afternoon all my junk was gone!! The two men that did the removal were very friendly and hard working. They even went out of their way to move an extra large and heavy item out of my basement and into the garage for me. I hope to have them back to do some grading work. I would definitely recommend them."

"~100 sq feet of exposed cinder foundation. AI Masonry chiseled/ground down the sloppy mortar and repointed where needed. Area then meshed and stucco'd. The end result makes such a difference. I highly recommend these guys - the owner Paul and his crew were professional and great to work with. Paul was super responsive in all phases, including planning when he provided the documentation my HOA required, a Certificate of Insurance. I had an aggressive schedule during what has been a wet spring. Paul and crew wound up working on a Sunday in order to complete the work in between rainy days and accommodate my schedule. These guys completed the job in one day, were respectful of neighbors/property lines, and took time to clean up the job site at the end of a long day, including removing any debris and washing off any stucco residue and mud from my driveway. I could not be happier with the entire experience and end results!!! I will definitely work with Paul and AI Masonry again."

"James helped with a repair to our driveway that butts up against concrete garage floor. He responded quickly, and gave a quote. He did exactly what we needed. He was very professional and easy to get ahold of with any questions. Highly recommend and will call for any future work of this type."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

By grading and compacting the base soil, ensuring proper drainage and stability.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

Yes, a paved or repaved driveway can boost your home's value by increasing its curb appeal and the functionality of your outdoor space. A new driveway can add anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 to a property's value. An old, crumbling driveway can be a red flag for potential buyers and inspectors.

The amount of value added depends on the materials used, the design, and local market conditions. Concrete is often cited as adding the most value due to its long lifespan, though asphalt may be more desirable in colder climates. The return on investment is greatest when replacing a driveway that is in poor condition; repaving a driveway that is already in good shape will not yield as significant an increase in value.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.
