Give Capital District Electric a call at (518) 573-1059 where no job is too big or too small. We do quality work, right the first time! Whenever you call Capital District Electric you will speak to a licensed electrician. Whenever you have us do your work it will be done by a licensed electrician not a helper or a electrician in training. We accept Checks, cash and all major credit cards. Additional email - [email protected].

"Eric returned my initial inquiry in a timely manner. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived a few minutes early. He completed the necessary work and made recommendation for a fix to prevent further issues. His professionalism was evident from the beginning. I immediately inquired about the cost of additional work, new wiring and installation of overhead lighting in our family room which has been too dark since the day we moved in. Eric made some recommendations for that work at a price that was well within our budget. He came back in time when scheduled, completed all work in the time promised, cleaned up after himself, and was genuinely thorough. The best experience I’ve had with any contractor I’ve hired for any work around the house yet. I will recommend Eric without hesitation to anyone I know and I’m sure will be having him back for additional projects in the future."

"We replaced the original roof on our house. I expressed my concerns about re-installation of the lightening rods to my roofer. We have had at least three direct hits since they were originally installed in 2013. My roofer called William who was very helpful. William offered to come out an make sure everything was 100% after re-installation. He came the day after I called and I'm glad he did. While the reinstall was the best he had seen (his words) there were issues after 5 year and 3 strikes that needed addressed. He fixed those and now I have a new roof and I am certain the lightening rods will work as intended. Highly recommend this company."

The modern suburban and small town home of today has become an ideal lightning target. The home owner would do well to recognize lightning for the destructive force that it is and protect against this major life and fire hazard. Donohue's Lightning Rods is based in Missouri, near the factory where most of the residential and commercial lightning rod supplies are manufactured. Jim travels regularly to Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New York. Call today to find out when Jim will be in your area. For installations outside Missouri, Kansas, or Texas, Jim waits until there are a few customers lined up, thus being able to provide the same quality services at affordable prices. **WE DO NOT DO ELECTRICAL SERVICES.** (ONLY LIGHTNING RODS)

"The job was beautifully and professionally done. I have a zero scape yard and the gentleman was concerned about disturbing the gravel when putting the rod into the ground. WOW!!!!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Installation typically takes 1-3 hours, depending on wiring complexity and ductwork requirements.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

Not every bathroom needs an exhaust fan. If you have a window in the bathroom, you can get many of the same benefits by opening the window. Moisture in window-less bathrooms can damage your wallpaper, paint, drywall, and wood. It can also result in mold growth, resulting in lung issues, skin irritation, and other health issues. You may need an exhaust fan if your bathroom regularly seems stuffy, traps in smells for a long time, or is prone to mold or mildew growth.

Exhaust fans push air out of spaces, removing moisture, heat, odors, and pollutants. They vent air outside through ducts, preventing mold and improving air quality. Unlike ventilation fans, which circulate fresh air in and out, exhaust fans focus solely on expelling unwanted indoor air.

Your bathroom exhaust fan shouldn't be loud. However, bath fans come in a wide variety of models, price points, and loudness characteristics, and yours may be louder or quieter than others you notice. Economy models tend to be the noisiest, with levels of 4.0 sones or more, which is about the sound of an electric shaver, while some high-end models can be barely audible.
