"I would like to start out by saying that I am beyond pleased with this company.  My walls were in really bad shape - old wallpaper paper and glue, a lot of cracks in the plaster, messy caulk lines, etc.  Now my walls look positively brand new.   
From the initial phone call, Danny was respectful, considerate, thorough, and precise.  From the moment the crew arrived, they were respectful of my things, respectful of my space, and respectful of the fact that I still had to live there.  They took care to make sure there was plastic all over to keep the mess at a minimum, they cleaned up after themselves, and they were nice, friendly guys.  Now, lets talk about the actual work:   These guys worked  their butts off.  They arrived at 9am and were there sometimes til 6-6:30 at night to get the job done.  They spackled, skim coated, primed, and painted the walls and trim.  We also used magnetic paint on one wall.  The magnetic paint was black and my wall color is tan.  They covered it so well, you can't even tell that there was black paint there at all.  The edging is clean, there is complete coverage on the walls and trim, and no drip marks.
I have never given such a glowing review on Angie's list before, but these guys totally deserve it.  There is still more work to be done in my house and I will be using AllStar again, to be sure.    "

"Ronda came to us through our general contractor. She assisted us in selecting our cabinets, counter tops, hardware and tile. She met with us multiple times at our house to work through the cabinet design. And we met with her multiple times at her studio and the tile shop to select our counter top and tile. Always ready to help, she is knowledgeable and has innate design ability. More than that, she can explain her design choices, yet is willing to discuss alternatives and work through the design process in a collaborative manner, bringing many ideas to the table – or kitchen, as it were. She listens to her clients and was able to translate our ideas into a comprehensive design. Throughout the process Ronda worked with our contractor and with us to make certain everything came together as planned. While there were a number of minor snafus, she was always there to make certain issues were resolved and to keep the job moving ahead. Cabinets and counter tops are a significant portion of the remolding cost. Cabinet manufactures are not all that interested in dealing directly with the customer. Rather, they work through their distributors. We purchased our cabinets through Ronda who has a strong working relationship with the manufactures she deals with and can easily work out issues. Thank you Ronda for a wonderful new kitchen!"

"I was not satisfied with the plan that BHR Interior Design gave. I don't feel that they listened to our budget and what the goals of our project were. They provided us with two options to move forward and only one of them seem to speak to what we needed. I gave them some of the same feedback that going with them gave some constraints that we were going to live with such as we were only allowed to use their cabinet company. Their cabinet company was remarkably more expensive. Why would somebody spend almost $50,000 on cabinet for a company who's never really heard of. Again, couldn't find anything bad about it but couldn't find anything good about it. It was just not attractive for my husband and I, we wanted to make sound decisions. The design was beautiful but it was just wasn't what we were looking for. It took a long time to come up with the two option. I will probably not use them again."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.  
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"Overall it went well. The owner was very responsive to a few things that came up. The original plastering job was not done according to the design that had been there before and I wanted re-created. When I spoke to the company they responded and came back and did the plastering over to the details I originally wanted. I am a bit of a perfectionist so any and all minor imperfections I saw were attended to in a way that made me happy."

"I got a deal from Berger about their table pad and just in time for my new dining room set. I didn't have time to set the template due to a new baby in the house. A few months later, they still honored my deal! WOW! I sent it in and they made the pad pretty quick. Shipping was fine and the fit was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone! Truly a good company to work with. A++"

"Ty Salazar is a nice guy, very knowledgeable, and a great kitchen designer. The work that eventually got done was of high quality, and his people were very responsive to our requests. The problem was in the scheduling and timing. Essentially, Ty seemed to lose touch with the project about halfway through, and that's where it all went south. We had timed everything so that the work would get done over the summer and we'd have a functional (if not 100% complete) kitchen by Labor Day, after which the kids would be back in school and we needed a working kitchen. I asked about this repeatedly and was repeatedly told that this would happen. I pushed hard to get all of the materials and appliances ordered so that they would be delivered on time. Well, we went away for 2 weeks before Labor Day, and when we got back, the work was nowhere near complete -- yet I was invoiced for the completion of the project. Several times I asked for a project schedule, not once was I given one. I gather that part of the problem was that we had to have permits for plumbing and electrical work and the "prima donna" behavior of the licensed plumber and electrician, who didn't show up when they were supposed to, left jobs uncompleted, etc. At any rate, we didn't have a working kitchen until late September, and the finishing cosmetic work took another few weeks to finish up. The final piece of the puzzle, a shelf that had to be custom made for a corner base cabinet, wasn't ready until January, and I got so tired of waiting for it to be delivered that I went out to Forest Hills myself to pick it up. No question about it, we love the new kitchen. But I was really not happy with the timeliness or the lack of communication over the scheduling."
