"Rich was great and very professional. The blueprints were promptly delivered and he did a great job working with the town regarding some requested changes. If I need an architect in the future, it will be Rich. In fact, we did recommend him to our son regarding his building project, and he is just as pleased. Rich is based in Syracuse and we are in Rochester. He came to our home, so don t let a little distance concern you."

"Very well. The installers did a great job. I have had a few issues this past year with a screen and a broken part on one window. Mike- who does their service- does a great job! He is very professional, prompt and conscientious."

"From the very first meeting Patrick was great! He showed up early and prepared to provide me with an estimate for a complete bathroom remodel. Following, when the decision was made to pick PG remodeling for this project their prompt start to the job due to the severity of water damage that had occurred was professional and appreciated. I found the pricing to be reasonable and fair. The project was completed quickly and im thankful to have use of this bathroom once again! Very satisfied customer, will definitely be using them in the future!"

"The workmen showed up on time and were very professional and did excellent work. My only issue was how long it took to get the work scheduled, despite that I would use JEC again and would certainly recommend them."

Architects questions, answered by experts

You'll find Arts and Crafts homes across the country in varying styles. On the East Coast, bungalows and Tudor Revivals fill the Boston area through New Jersey. In the West, Mission-style homes incorporate terracotta shingles, white stucco siding, and rounded archways.

While towers and turrets are frequently present in Queen Anne-style houses, these design elements are not necessary for a home to be considered a Queen Anne. Turrets and towers add visual interest and unique interior spaces, but many Queen Anne homes do not contain these features.

Renaissance-style architecture predates Italianate architecture and serves as an inspiration for many elements of the Italianate style. Renaissance architecture adheres to the rules of classical architecture, while Italianate architecture adds elements that served to modernize the Renaissance style for the Victorian era and allow this style of home to be produced in a range of sizes to be attainable for various budgets.

A cathedral ceiling is a type of vaulted ceiling with a symmetrical peak that follows the pitch of the roof. They typically peak at a height of 12 to 20 feet, although they can go higher. This dramatic height and steep peak mimic the architecture of many historic cathedrals, which is where they got their name.

Cathedral ceilings make a statement in your home, but at the cost of your attic space. Normal attics are wide open, which allows warm air to move around and exit your home. Because of this, cathedral ceilings make your home less energy efficient and put your ceiling at risk of venting issues if you’re not careful. They also reduce your attic storage space, potentially cause an echo, and even make it harder to change a light bulb.
