"Technician did not impress me as being very knowledgeable. He arrived in a Mr. Rooter truck so I guess he was more about drains and sewers than plumbing and heating. When he arrived, my wife showed him the Angie's list coupon for 10% off and he said "No problem". The extrol tank he installed on the hot water heater was twice as big as the one removed and it is sitting dangerously close to the exhaust stack. I will have to replace this when I get a chance! After the technician left, we noticed he had NOT given us the 10% off so we called D. Rohde. We were told it would be taken care of as soon as she reached someone in the invoicing group. We have called more than 4 times and keep getting the same "pass the buck" story and never received our 10% off! What a joke! I guess I will start using Home Advisor instead of Angie's list!!! In addition, after the technician left, we had no hot water. It turns out the pilot light was out. I was able to reset it but was away and my daughter who lives there had no hot water for several days until I returned to check it out."

Humberto, his son, and their team replaced drywall, baseboards, primed and painted both rooms. They redid the laundry room floors, and the vanity in the bathroom. Everything looks amazing, and we have already discussed with them if they can redo the rest of downstairs, paint upstairs and my kitchen cabinets. "Dave Nessel and his stellar company, Unique Construction NY Inc. are the BEST. Allow me tell you why- On May 15th 2022 at 5:45 p.m., my house was hit by, what electrical engineers later estimated, was at least 80,000 volts of lightning. That huge, direct surge of energy destroyed all the systems and contents that made my house more than four walls and a roof. In addition to the bolt of lightning destroying all the systems in the house, it caused a violent, destructive fire. Thankfully I was home at the time of the incident, or the house would have quickly burned down all the way down and my pets would have suffered a terrible fate. Still, after all was said and done what had been my home for seventeen years was reduced to nothing more than an outer shell. I was immediately forced into the position to find, hire, and organize tradesmen from all specialties, negotiate the endless complexities of homeowners insurance, all while trying to find a place to live and continuing my self-employed full-time work schedule. It quickly became clear I needed the services of a general contractor. I interviewed a couple, but as soon as I met Dave I knew he was the man for the job. Dave was always on time or early. He went through the house with a fine tooth comb for hours, noticing things and problems from the destruction I hadn't noticed.
