"Nick and his crew did a GREAT job for us. We had a bathroom remodel done by another contractor a couple years ago, and went with an acrylic shower base rather than a mud base. The acrylic base was not supported properly and it squeaked when you stepped on it, which was immensely annoying. Nick came over and gave me a price to remove the acrylic base and install a properly supported mud tile base. This was one of the smoothest home improvement projects I've ever had done. Put simply, Nick and his guys just show up and work. They don't complain about how the last person did a poor job as so many home improvement professionals do. Clean and meticulous - they put down drop cloths all the way going up to the bathroom from the front door and cleaned up the bathroom each night before they left. They also swept up the garage where they were cutting wood. The shower now feels rock solid with a concrete base and my only regret is we didn't call Nick sooner. Last, the whole crew was super nice to my 4 year old son who loves to chat and get in the way, and that meant a lot to me. I will use Nick for any and all kitchen and bath issues I have moving forward - period. I'm already talking to him about replacing the vanity in my powder room. Thanks Nick for a job well done. It was a pleasure having you and your crew in our home."

"We had our bathroom remodeled in January. It needed to be gutted down to the studs, so not a small job. 90 year old house with the typical, small bathroom. Parts of the floor were rotted, questionable electric, broken vent fan and needed everything updated. Some contractors didn't want to be bothered with it. Charles took on the job and was able to work through all of the challenges that you run into in an older home. For instance, 2 walls had 2 layers of drywall. 1 layer was holding in the blown in insulation so he recommended leaving it which we did. Rather than rip the whole floor out, which I thought might be needed, he was able to remove the rotted parts, replace them and go over the whole floor with an additional layer. There is no more bounce to the floor, it's much warmer and everything is solid. We went from an oversized bathtub/shower to a walk in shower which I LOVE! So much easier to clean! Due to the small size of the bathroom, I wanted to install a pocket door instead of a standard inswing door. A couple of contractors wouldn't even quote it for us. Charles was able to frame it in and install it and it is fantastic. No more lost space in a small bathroom just because of the door opening. Everytime something odd was encountered, Charles took the time to go over it with us and gave us multiple options for how to address it. He gave us his opinion but the final decision was ours. I greatly appreciated the advice as his experience has taught him the best ways to address some of the common challenges seen with older properties. The entire job from gut to finish took about 2 weeks. The remodeled bathroom is just as awesome as I had hoped it would be. We are extremely happy and would highly recommend Charles. Once a couple of other projects get done, I plan to call him back for another job and I look forward to working with him again. He is very professional, friendly and easy to work with."

"Joe Santos has been doing work for me for over 25 years. He has done a second floor addition, kitchen bathroom and a number of smaller projects for us that far exceeded our expectations. His work has always been thorough and done in a very timely fashion. He is very detailed in his workmanship, honest, trustworthy, courteous and always willing to go the extra mile when needed. I very much appreciate having someone that I can call upon with trust that the job will get done right. I would very much recommend Joe Santos for whatever construction projects that may be needed."

"I recently had my tub replaced by Jamie and the process was very straightforward and pleasant from start to finish. He was attentive, communicative and professional. His pricing is fair and I appreciated how clean he kept the construction area after he would leave for the day. I will definitely be hiring Jamie to work on my house again!"

Customers say: True professional

"I am so happy with my bathroom. The guy that works with Rob Drew did a phenomenal job. He’s a perfectionist, and I could not be more happier with the work that I received. Rob did oversee everything and he did come and check in. He did call asked me did I need anything? Was everything OK, I’m very pleased with the work that they did. There was another person that came that that Rob had come to cut in my walls and sand them and he did a phenomenal job His group of people were just perfectionist. I am really pleased with the work. Rod is such a pleasant guy and I was kind of leery about trying to find someone because I have had bad experience in the past, but I am so pleased with the work."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The impact of a walk-in tub on home value depends on various factors, including market demand, demographic preferences, and overall home features. While some buyers may view it as a desirable accessibility feature, others might see it as a niche amenity, potentially limiting the pool of interested buyers. However, it could add value if the walk-in tub meets specific needs or enhances the property's appeal to a target demographic. Ultimately, its effect on home value varies case by case, with factors like installation quality, design, and neighborhood trends playing roles in determining its impact.

Installing a bathtub can be complex, depending on your prior plumbing experience, the type of bathtub you’re installing, and whether you need to make any changes to your bathroom’s plumbing. It’s advisable to leave this job to the pros, especially if you’re new to the world of plumbing.

The diverter valve in your bathtub is responsible for diverting water between your tub spout and your shower head. If water comes out of both at the same time, you have a faulty diverter valve. You can have a plumber replace this for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have some experience working with plumbing fixtures.

While Medicare will pay for some bathroom modifications, it won’t pay for all modifications done to help make the room more accessible for older adults. Plus, the improvements must be approved in advance, or they won’t cover the upgrade. Check well in advance of construction if you have coverage for grab bars, walk-in tubs, wider doorways, higher toilets, and more.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.
