He assessed both trees, said he could remove the maple without damage to my neighbor's shed, and said the other tree was alright. (He could have said it needed to come down too, and increased the job for himself and the cost to me, but he didn't.) He took down the split maple safely, without touching my neighbor's shed, and removed all the debris, including some branches that weren't part of the tree's being taken down. The crew protected everything in the house, removed the tree in 2-1/2 hours +/- ; and when the job was over there was no damage to our home, and the tree stump location, the yard, the path of removal through our house, the driveway in front of the house, and the street where their chipper and truck were located were all cleaner than when they started.
