"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"Excellent. Quick response. At least from my non-professional POV -- they convinced me they were professional and answered my more general questions to my complete satisfaction."

"The day they were scheduled to come, it rained all day. So, it was rescheduled for the next week. They arrived at the exact time they said they'd be there. Mike and his helper worked very efficiently. When they pulled the well pump and saw how clogged with mud it had been, Mike said he did not have to check the line to the house. He was sure that the water pump was the problem. They finished work outside first, as there were still threats of rain, and then came inside to replace the water tank. They laid down sheets on the floor so as not to track in mud. They worked solidly until the job was done, took all the old parts with them, and then presented me with a revised (down) bill as they had not needed to test the line connecting the well and the house."

"after they finished the job under the kitchen sink, I had a problem with the water pressure. I received a response by email that they felt it was not their problem and they refused to sent a technician down to check the problem. Thereafter, they no longer responded to my phone calls. On initial call, Aubriana was very sweet, however, the customer service with the project manager and owner was terrible. So, no I would not recommend."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Even a single, one-time exposure to asbestos can be harmful and pose health risks. According to the EPA, any contact can increase the risk of developing asbestos-related diseases and certain types of cancer, although the likelihood of severe health issues increases with repeated or prolonged exposure.

The severity of a single exposure depends on factors like the duration, intensity, and concentration of the asbestos fibers. While a small amount is less likely to cause significant damage, a high concentration can lead to serious long-term lung damage. Individual reactions vary, and asbestos-related illnesses may not appear for 10 to 40 years after inhalation.

Given these risks, always take precautions around any material suspected to contain asbestos. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may not be completely effective. If you suspect asbestos is in your home, hire a professional for testing and removal. If you are worried about a potential exposure, consult your doctor.

The signs of asbestos exposure are often subtle and may not appear for many years, or even decades, after initial contact. This long latency period is one of the primary dangers associated with asbestos.

When symptoms do manifest, they can include:

  • Shortness of breath

  • A persistent, dry cough

  • Chest pain or tightness

  • Fatigue

  • Wheezing

  • Weight loss

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • A dry, crackling sound from the lungs when breathing

These symptoms are non-specific and can be mistaken for other respiratory conditions, making diagnosis challenging. Prolonged exposure can lead to serious diseases as the asbestos fibers cause scarring and inflammation in the lungs. These conditions include asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma.

Due to the vague nature of early symptoms, regular medical check-ups are crucial for anyone with a known history of asbestos exposure, particularly in an occupational setting. If you suspect asbestos is present in your home, a professional inspection is recommended.

In the event of suspected or confirmed asbestos contamination on the body, it is imperative to take immediate measures to reduce health risks. To avoid further exposure, carefully remove contaminated clothing and shower thoroughly to remove any asbestos fibers. Seek prompt medical attention, and inform your healthcare professional about your suspected asbestos exposure. Since asbestos-related health issues can take years to surface, regular medical check-ups are advised for anyone with a history of exposure.

While a professional can always help, there are some common plumbing culprits you can check yourself to see if you can find the sewer gas smell. For example, you should check your water traps, sometimes called P-traps and S-traps, which are located under sink, shower, and laundry drains. The wax ring beneath the base of your toilet, which creates a watertight seal with the plumbing, could also have gone bad.

Asbestos fibers can stay airborne for 48 to 72 hours, depending on the home's ventilation. Fibers can linger longer in enclosed spaces with poor airflow. Because the fibers are microscopic, they can easily remain suspended, making them difficult to detect without professional equipment.
