"We’ve had the pleasure of working with Precision Drywall for many years, and they continue to be an outstanding partner on every project. Their professionalism is evident from start to finish—they communicate clearly about scheduling, arrival times, and any issues they encounter along the way. They’re always willing to work through timing or coordination challenges with us, and we can count on them to complete their work efficiently and on schedule. The job site is consistently left clean and organized, which is a huge plus in keeping our projects running smoothly and our customer’s happy. "Great work, very professional, friendly, and overall a pleasant gentleman to work with. Hired him to drywall two full bedrooms. Unintentional made him have to some framing due to work I did (sorry about that). He took it in stride.. Wish I could do half stars, I would give him 4.5 stars out of 5. The reason being, there was a drywall that wasnt installed in an out of sight part of one closet. I will easily install myself, but for transparency I thought I mention it. Would 100% hire him again if I have the chance."

"Juan was the only person who actually listened to our problem and gave us a practical solution. He was friendly, reasonably priced and his work was well done. He installed a drain, poured concrete, cut and reinstalled drywall and fixed two foundation issues. I highly recommend Greenstone Waterproofing."

"We needed help with a home painting project as our foyer has a cathedral ceiling. J.A.C. Painting gave us a reasonable estimate, and completed the work professionally and efficiently. Joe and his crew were always polite in their daily interactions and respectful of our living space. They also made sure that the area was tidied up at each day's end. I'm extremely pleased with the work they did and would definitely hire them again!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

If you're comfortable hanging drywall yourself, you may be comfortable finishing it. But it's worth noting that finishing drywall adds several steps to the process and a lot of waiting time. Hiring a drywall installer may be the way to go if you'd rather spend your time doing other things or are nervous about leaving a rough surface.

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.
