Small jobs welcome

"We hired Matt to remodel our basement and were very happy with the final product and the overall experience of working with him. He completely transformed the basement from an unfinished concrete pit to an extension of the livable space of the house. He did a great job of hiding the ugly parts of the basement (furnace, breaker box, sump pump) by building closets. We were blown away by how great the space looked when he was done! We especially love the three wood doors he custom-built for the closets. He worked quickly and the project was done within the timeframe we needed. His prices are very fair (much less than we were quoted by other contractors in the area) and the final price was exactly what he said it would be. A bonus is that he's super friendly and pleasant to talk to. We are so happy to have found Matt and will definitely be hiring him for future projects!"

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"The owner (Mike Januszka) is very personable, knowledgeable and competent. He worked with us to order and install an aluminum ramp from the garage into the house; and he and another workman installed a stairlift to adapt my 99 year old Mother's house so that she can continue to live in her home safely without having to move out into a Nursing Home at this time. We appreciate Mike's expertise and efficiency."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

When choosing a drywall anchor, consider the weight of the object you're hanging and how much weight the anchor will need to support. The heavier the weight, the stronger the anchor you'll need. You’ll find the weight capacity on the packaging when shopping for anchors.

Also, remember that you can use more than one anchor when hanging something on the wall. If you're using multiple anchors, divide the object weight by the number of anchors to determine how much each will need to support. If you need help deciding which drywall anchor to use, you can hire a handyperson to hang your objects.
