North Shore came out and diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts, and within another week or so everything was fixed. My wife commented that of all of the various repair companies we have ever worked with, North Shore is always the most punctual and professional. They arrive on right on time every time, and they are in and out quickly. We would definitely use them again. Last October I paid $12,400 for two new heaters at different homes, a tune-up of an existing solar system, plus a new solar system at one of the homes. At the time, I thought the company was very professional, even though they were more expensive than their competitors.
For the first 9 months after installation, the systems they installed were only operational for a few weeks at a time. I purchased the solar system with the intention of saving on my energy bills, but I saw no savings, since the system was never running.
My troubles began within the first couple of weeks after installation. The pool pumps at my homes were over-heating, and the heat from the pumps was causing some of the PVC piping to warp. My pool technician who looked at the set-up said that my pumps were undersized and couldn?t effectively get the water from the pumps up to the roof and through the solar system.
Fun in the Sun convinced me that the pool technician was completely wrong, and that the size of my pumps was just fine. They suggested that I get all new piping that was running into the pumps, and check the pumps for leaks, which I did (at my expense).
The system started overheating again, and this time Fun in the Sun came out to the home to investigate. They found a leak in one of the solar panels they had installed brand new. They fixed the solar panel under warranty, and said everything should work now.
A couple of months later the same thing was happening ? the pump would overheat, the solar system would need to shut down, etc. Once again I paid for someone to re-pipe and check all of the other aspects of the system, since Fun in the Sun convinced me my pumps were fine.
The system started running again, but now my spa jets would not work. I never really noticed that the spa jets weren?t working, until the solar system started working. For all of these other months when the solar system was shut off, the spa was working. Once the solar system was operational, the spa jets would stop. I was told that my pool pumps were too small to run both the spa and the solar system at the same time. Fun in the Sun denied there was any problem.
Within another couple of months, both pumps at both homes burned out. Both of these pumps were about a year or two old, but the pool technician who installed them said that the warranty couldn?t be honored, because they weren?t made for the load required by the solar system.
At this time Fun in the Sun offered to sell me two new pumps that they assured me would get the job done. Interestingly, the pump that they recommended was more powerful than the pumps they were replacing. If my previous pumps were fine, why were they now recommending a larger pump?
The price they offered the pumps at was approximately double the price through Amazon. I explained this to them, and they suggested that I purchase the pumps on Amazon and they would install them for a fee.
They gave me a quote to install the new pumps over the phone, and then I e-mailed them to confirm the installation cost so we would have a written record. A few weeks later I noticed a charge on my credit card ? for an amount that was higher than what they told me. I e-mailed two of the owners of the company, and they told me that whoever gave me the price over the phone gave me the wrong price. When I reminded them that I confirmed the price in an e-mail to them, they said ?oh yeah ? I saw your e-mail come in, but you referenced the price towards the end and I didn?t read the whole thing?. They refused to honor the price we had agreed to.
It was bad enough that they charged my credit card without my authorization (they used my credit card number from a previous transaction), they charged a higher amount than we agreed to. At this point I was so upset I hung up the phone and walked away.
As bad as this was, the story actually gets worse. One of the heat-pumps they installed stopped working the other week, about 3 days before the warranty was up. I called Fun in the Sun, and I was told that they don?t do any warranty repair work on the heaters they install. I reminded them that the heaters I purchased were less than a year old, and the reason I purchased the heaters from Fun in the Sun was the warranty. They were selling these Pentair heaters for about 20% more than other dealers.
The person on the phone told me that ?our heaters do have a full warranty, we are just not trained on how to service the units ? we are only trained on how to install them?. She then gave me an 800 number to call in order to have a different company come out to service the heaters. The company that the manufacturer wanted to send out didn?t have any openings for two weeks, and I needed it fixed immediately since I had a paying guest staying in my Disney property, so I had to pay $210 out-of-pocket to get one of my brand-new heaters fixed. The fact that Fun in the Sun doesn't service the heaters they install was NEVER DISCLOSED during the sales process. I never would have selected them if I knew they couldn't stand behind their products.
Fin in the Sun is a big company. If I was only dealing with underlings or customer service reps that might explain their lack of caring. Since I was dealing with the owners though, it was extremely disappointing.
Since the new pool pumps were installed, and since I paid this other company to fix the heaters, both systems have now been operational for a couple of months. This is the first continuous operation of these systems since last October.
I would suggest looking elsewhere for your heater and solar needs."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/fl/orlando/fun-in-the-sun-pool-heating-inc-reviews-422254.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Havenhouse Upholstery","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"NY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Susan S."},"reviewBody":"I rated the cost as N/A because we did not shop around; I chose this vendor because he was highly rated on Angie's List, but do not know how his bid and final costs compare to others. We had 6 wooden dining room chairs which were my grandmother's (so at least 60 years old, as she died at 90ish); wooden backs, seats worn through and what appeared to be kapok stuffing falling out here and there. Not particularly good quality chairs I don't think, but of sentimental value to me. We also had another, nonmatching wooden chair which I wanted reupholstered in a matching fabric. All had dings and scratches and occasional loose joints, and we had put sticky felt on the bottoms of the legs to avoid scratching our dining room floor. I telephoned to ask if he could do the job, phone was answered promptly and pleasantly by Mr. Hayden himself, appt made for us to bring chairs to him the following day (a Saturday in early June 2013). I did not have upholstery cloth picked out, he said fine to get it elsewhere (he could tell us how much needed after seeing chairs) or he had some we could look at. Address he wanted chairs brought to was different from that listed as Havenhouse Upholstery on Google (it appears on Google as Havenhouse all one word); appeared to be his home when we got there. He had a furniture-filled workshop in his back garage which is where we dropped off the chairs; he had about a dozen different rolls of upholstery cloth of different patterns/fabrics in the back of his minivan and we chose one we liked from that selection (I am perfectly happy with what we chose, but do not consider myself a picky shopper in matters of style -- durability and stain resistance more important as we have kids, and he recommended some of what he brought as more durable than other fabrics, we chose from those). Estimate was $575 for reseating/upholstery/stain guarding and $200 for repairs to chairs (he said refinishing was not recommended for chairs like these, and that was not our focus anyway), paid by check $250 deposit. He said it would take several weeks. Late June I called to check and let him know we would be unreachable for a week, he said he was almost done. As arranged he called me after we returned to arrange pickup, appt made for next day. He stated repairs had been more extensive than estimated and would be an extra $75 (I made no quibbles). Place to pick up was another different address. I had to call to confirm address twice (trouble entering into GPS) but each time Mr. Hayden answered right away himself and was immediately helpful. and quot;Haven House Upholsteryand quot; or similar not seen on signage of building at that address when I arrived so I phoned; he drove to where I was (took 1 minute) and led me back to a storage unit containing a workspace and lots of furniture including our chairs. He helped me load up and I paid remainder by check to him personally, receiving receipt with both Haven House Upholstery and his name at the top which lays out work done nicely but does not include tax line (I have to assume sales tax was included in the price). Quality of the work: seats look great, very comfortable to sit on with good firm/soft balance for both me (short and fat) and husband (tall and thin), fabric fits tightly and is beautifully folded over corners and evenly trimmed underneath, a lot better than the original seats even before they wore through. The fabric we chose had a herringbone pattern which would show minor faults in alignment easily and this was perfectly aligned on each chair. Wood had greatly diminished ding/scratch appearance, still present (as expected) but have to look a lot harder to find them. Joints very stable now, no leaked glue visible (if he used glue; I didn't ask how he made repairs). Unasked, he had replaced the sticky felt pads under each chairleg with the same color and thickness we had used. Overall, I am very pleased with the work quality. Timing and what would and could not be done was all accurately explained in words I could understand. Cost was a bit more than original estimate but I believe the chairs deserved this as he hadn't tested the joints a lot before making his estimate, and this is not a visible problem. I had expected more of a storefront experience given the name and quot;Havenhouse Upholsteryand quot; but reaching and dealing with Mr. Hayden was easy at all times. My only concern is the lack of evidence of having paid sales tax on the receipt, which I did not notice until I got home. I would use him again if needed; he seems to be a real craftsman who cares about quality and that is well worth putting up with a slightly less-than-slick business demeanor. The best possible service! There was practically no waiting time to start the project and the work was completed very fast. Anthony was very honest and straightforward about the prices, didn't have any objections to my own choice of fireplace insert (although he did offer his help in...
The pro was quick to confirm that the carpet repair we inquired about could not be economically done. Since the carpet is almost 20 years old, and the cat that did the damage is still living, we elected to piece it ourselves.
I gave a call to the warranty department at the manufacturer and was put in touch with Millard at Indi Appliance Services. He was incredibly helpful on the phone, and we scheduled the service call. Before the appointment he walked me through exactly what was covered under warranty and what...

North Shore Appliance did a great job. We had them out to the house a couple of years ago for an issue with our stove, and it was covered under warranty. This most recent issue was not under warranty. One side of our dual ovens was not heating. It ended up being a bad circuit board. ...

Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.

Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
