Lowe's Air Duct Cleaning is an honest & reputable company, specializing in air duct cleaning business. We always stand behind the jobs we do and guarantee the best quality results for each project. Our prices are very competitive & detailed pricing is always disclosed upfront. **We do not hold a Nassau County Home Improvement Contractor license and do not service Nassau County.

"Did a fantastic job cleaning the HVAC ducts. I had recently done major renovations on my home which created a huge amount of dust. The dust got into the returns and created a uncomfortable situation. Once all the work was done I purchased the duct cleaning from Lowes using the coupon deal they promoted on this site. I then called and they to scheduled me for the service promptly . They called ahead the day before to confirm the appointment, they then called the day of the appointment to let me know they were on the way. The technician showed up on time and was very polite, and even took is shoes off to work in the house. He did a very thorough job and kept me informed each step of the cleaning process. He even put a camera into the ducts to take before and after photos. I would highly recommend this company, and will you them again in the future."

"great. fast, effici d nt, clesn, tidy. in and out. had the install done 4yrs ago. Fan + light still work great. ***highly recommend*** ETP - started using them 8 yrs ago - we had a huge moisture and pressure problem that arose in our house after another company installed a new heat pump and furnace. The other company tried to fix it, but problem got even worse. Water was dripping from our finished basement ceilings and dew was all over our main floor furniture. ETP fixed both the pressure and the moisture problems in 1 day. Completely resolved - and stayed resolved for 8 yrs now! We've been them for all our HVAC ever since."

"A/C unit was not blowing cold air. Day 1: Arrived 30 minutes late. Stayed for 20 minutes. Said that he fixed the problem. Told me cold air was coming out; I disagreed. He said "it works - if you have any problems let me know." The unit was still broken. We called and scheduled him for 10:30am the next day. Day 2: 10:30am and he's not here. I call at 11:30am. He says he'll be 1.5 hours late. 2pm we call. He says he can't come today. We reschedule for 11am. Day 3: 11am and he's not here. I call at 11:30am. He says he'll be here in 1.5 hours. I ask "Why?". He says "I'm busy." 1pm comes and he's not here. I text and he says "35 minutes". He shows up with another guy at 2pm (and by the way - never apologized for being late or canceling). He walks right to my electrical box and turns off the power, goes upstairs to the unit and fills up the Freon and is back downstairs 10 minutes later and says "it's fixed". (Obviously, he knew what the problem was day 1 but wanted the extra $$). I ask him to stick around and wait until we see the thermostat numbers start to go down; he says "trust me - it's fixed" and wants to leave. He has given me literally zero reason to trust him, so I ask that he stays. His coworker starts laughing at me and making jokes. I lose my temper and they storm out. Ten minutes later, the numbers on the thermostat started going down proving that they had fixed the problem. If only they agreed to wait. So...out of all the A/C people in NY, would you like to hire this company?"

FAQs for heating and air conditioning service projects in Elmsford, NY

Knowing how long your existing HVAC units can last is essential to determine if you need a repair or replacement. Typically, most modern air conditioning units can last between 15 to 20 years, and most furnaces can work properly for 15 to 30 years. If your HVAC system is on the older side and you decide to replace one unit, it might make sense to replace both simultaneously to save on costs and future hassle.

While different HVAC contractors might offer higher or lower prices than competitors, the best time to replace your HVAC system is when customer demand is low. The beginning of summer and the beginning of winter bring the most demand for HVAC systems, so if you can, consider replacing your HVAC units in the early spring or fall. Many HVAC companies offer special off-season coupons that help lower the overall cost.

The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.

Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The average cost of HVAC repairs is around $350. However, that price can be as low as $100 or as high as $2,000 or more, depending on the repair. For example, replacing a capacitor is a relatively inexpensive repair, ranging from $100 to $500. However, a compressor repair is a more expensive repair, ranging from $750 to $2,000.
