This was the worst experience i have ever had with a company. They came and damaged my house and kept us without AC for days. They admitted to the extensive damage and went weeks before attempting to repair it. The services were never fully completed and they were paid over 90% of the job. I disputed the last 10% and provided overwhelming evidence of their negligence. And after a year their last ditch effort was to send collections letters. Don't walk, RUN from this company. I will provide pics and my my experience to anyone who is planning on using this company. Used to be family owned and was amazing. Second they sold it went downhill fast.

I was overcharged for replacing a shower faucet cartridge. The plumber inspected the leak and ask me to sign a quote for $600 - which he said would cover the labor for the removal of the old cartridge. He said he needs to melt it out with a torch and may take an hour or two to remove the old one. The $600 covers all labor and parts. I signed the quote. He open up the shower, removed the leaking cartridge and replace with a new one in 15 minutes. He stayed in the bathroom answering emails for 10 minutes because he was embarrassed - and when I confronted him - he said it came out easily - but still charged me $600 since I already signed the service agreement.

Initially, working with Universe went very well when we replaced a central air unit and installed a single-head and triple-head ductless unit... for about 1 season. After that, numerous issues arose (under warranty) from full line-replacement on the ductless units to having to come back to repair a wired connection that was reversed. This caused the AC to not work and have lots of moisture leak through our units. Additionally, pretty much EVERY season we have had an issue with our "brand new efficient systems" not working or failing. We leveraged the warranty and figured all the "kinks" of the installation were worked out over the first few years. Now, with the warranty expired for a year, we have had to have them back to our house several times with a service charge with absolutely zero consideration for the large project we have done with them and our dedicated customer history. We paid for those, thinking we would be done with repairs, as the tech said... Two days ago, with one single-head unit not powering up, they wanted to charge $285 just to show up to take a look at the issue... couldn't even send someone over when convenient to take a quick look... Severely disappointed in this "family business" that treats loyal/dedicated customers as a number. Their installation of ductless systems seems mediocre at best.

the entire process from estimate to installation went very well. I found everyone at the company helpful and friendly. The price was good and installation went well. I've had the mini-splits running for 3 days now and the whole family is very happy.

Buyer beware!!! They charge you $249 service fee to show up after 5pm and when they arrive they tell you the tech support for your manufacturer is not available until business hours the next business day. They return the next business day to tell you the part needed is not in stock and it will take a few days to arrive. Who has 2-3 days to wait at 30-35 degrees with no heat or hot water???? I went to a local plumbing supply company and brought the required part sealed in a box from the manufacturer, but Universe refused to install. I advised I would take responsibility for the part, they still refused to install leaving me with no heat... (maybe because there is no markup available when customer supplies the part?....I offered to pay a markup just to get heat in the house, they still refused). They claimed the job would cost $1,500. The required part was $75. Check out Sullivan Plumbing and Heating in Massapequa. They did the same job with my part for 20% of the price quoted by Universe Home Services. Mr. Sullivan is an honest plumber who does great work.

All of our repairs come with a full one year warranty on parts and labor.... Thank you."

Since this was an emergency (we were concerned that the pipe might crack with no support) we went with Universe as that was the first company we contacted. The service manager (Tommy) sent over a tech (Nick) within 2 hours. Nick proceeded to remove 20ft of old pipe and replaced with new PVC and new support straps. The job took about 5 hours including the assessment and cleanup. The service was performed very professionally. We did pay $2,700, which we feel was a quite high for 5 hours of work. But, since we didn't get competing bids we can't complain.

Service tech was outstanding. I felt it took to long for them to get back to me after I made a request on line. Very expensive. I could have purchased exact same parts online for $60, they charged me $525 plus the service call.

This is the second time I have used this company and was completely satisfied both times. This time was during this crazy virus. Russ B was very polite and professional from start to finish. He explained all the steps he was taking to ensure my protection as well as his own and made me completely comfortable that safety and sanitation were a top priority. He took the time to explain all details involved in the job at hand; listed options available as well as pricing. Service was prompt, Cleanup complete. It was an all-round good experience. I will recommend this company to others and will use them again myself.

He told me he thinks there is a leak. At the end of the cables a blue cement or something, which is a cheap way of fixing a leak. He said he could have a problem fixing it. He was able to fix the issue within three hours from start to finish. The prices are high but they do good work!

the job went very well. the crew finished a big job in one day. we are very happy with their work and will use them again. in the past they have installed our central air, water heater and boiler. they also replaced our toilet and performed electrical repairs in our home. we recommend them highly for any work you need done.
