"What a great job these folks did. We basically were only moving furniture, as we had "pre-moved" most of our clothing and knick-knacks, but what a great job they did with furniture: taking apart and reassembling furniture, wrapping and protecting finishes, and securing our goods on their truck. They did move one closet of clothing, hanging it in wardrobe boxes and rehanging at our destination. They were as busy as bees throughout the process. I highly recommend Moving APT."

"I was extremely stressed out because the tree roots were causing damage to the sidewalk and my driveway. The roots of the tree started lifting the sidewalk and causing it to be unlevel So of course, I had to get the tree removed. The tree was fairly close to the house. I would say 10 to 15 feet and it was a fairly large tree So naturally, I was worried that tree would fall on my house. David assured me that nothing like that would happen on his watch. Dave and his crew were very friendly, respectful and professional. They were able to remove the tree in several hours. He cleaned the entire yard so well that people walking by couldn’t even tell that a tree was cut down just several hours before. He even went the extra mile to come back the following day to grind down the stump and then filled in the hole with topsoil. I am very pleased with his work and highly recommend him to everyone looking for an honest, reliable and fair company."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.
