"10 minutes after I entered the need for emergency services for a clogged drain Jorge contacted me. 20 minutes later he was at my home. We showed him the clogged toilet, shower and garage, he removed the toilet (which cost extra) unfortunately, due to the amount of pressure shitty water was everywhere. He snaked the toilet and was able to reach the problem, someone put baby wipes and paper towels in the toilet. He helped clean up. Fortunately, my husband had a wet vac. Problem solved, bleach and water will take care of the rest. Thank you Jorge."

"Jason installed two toilets. He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and meticulous. He did a great job and cleaned up everything before he left. This was my first experience using this company and I would definitely use them again."

"Anthony and his assistant Pat showed up a half hour early for the appointment. Spent a lot of time trying to find a leak I had in the bath. Had to replace a defective faucet which leaked into the garage. Also had them replace valves under the sink and snake out a backed up drain from the laundry. Showed up the next day on time and went to work. Explained exactly what he was doing and completed everything expertly. Very pleasant and professional. Would recommend and will use him again"

"Moved heavy boiler up difficult site. Installed in one day. Very professional and patient in detailed explanations of complex zoning issues. Prices are high in Dutchess Co. compared to other areas of NY. I generally think plumbers are a safer bet for a maintenance plan and longer lasting businesses than most HVAC companies."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a basement bathroom without breaking concrete by using an upflush toilet system, which includes a macerator pump. These systems sit on top of the concrete floor, so you don't have to drill into it to install plumbing. The macerator pump breaks up waste until it is soft enough to pass through a discharge pipe to the main sewage line. This method saves you time and money by bypassing the need to break concrete to connect drain pipes.

The normal water level in a toilet bowl is about halfway full. The water should sit above the P trap drain because this creates a seal and suction. When you flush the toilet, the suction keeps sewer gases from entering your house through your toilet. Anytime the water level is higher or lower than half full, you need to make adjustments or replace broken parts.

One of the many benefits of a pressure-assist toilet is how long it lasts. You can expect a well-maintained one to last up to 30 years. That's five years longer than a standard gravity-fed toilet, so it can be a worthwhile investment if you’re willing to spend more on your toilet installation.

If you don’t replace a toilet flapper, your toilet tank will continue to empty and fill repeatedly, wasting water and running up your utility bills. Checking the flapper is a good first guess when dealing with a constantly running toilet. However, if these problems continue after replacing the flapper, you may need to hire a plumber to check and fix any bigger problems.

Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.
