"I can't say enough about the professionalism and integrity of this company. We have had affordable irrigation do two separate irrigation projects for us now. each project came with its own challenges but this company was able to come in do the required work and barley leave any trace that they had even worked within our flower and shrub beds. Crabgrass is often a darker color than carpetgrass and tends to sprout much earlier in spring. When allowed to grow out, crabgrass grows stems outward from the center of a stalk in a star-like pattern, which carpetgrass does not have.

Bahia grass is not difficult to grow, but you might need patience for this slow-growing grass. Whereas some grass species, like Bermuda grass, can take 1 to 2 weeks to germinate, Bahia grass can take two or three times as long, making it seem like it won’t grow. But again, once your Bahia grass is established, it requires little maintenance. Its deep root system makes it a very durable grass that can bounce back after freezes and droughts. 

The easiest way to rough up soil to accept grass seed and provide the best opportunity for its growth is to make several passes over the area with a garden tiller and rake away the loosened vegetation and debris. However, in some cases, very hard ground may require using a shovel or pick to break up pieces into smaller chunks that the tiller can handle more easily.

You can, like you can put too little down. Sowing too much grass seed can create competition between the seeds for resources (light, water, nutrients) and the seedlings could struggle to grow. When you sow too few, your lawn will come in thin. Your seed product has a recommended seeding rate, so use that as your guide.

Before you put down grass seed, you should cultivate your soil or add two inches of topsoil. You should also put down fertilizer at the same time as your seed to prompt healthy growth. Be sure to water after you put down grass seed, especially for the first two weeks.
