Customers say: Quick response

"Having a historic home in Pittsford (1793) we wanted to make sure we hired the right person. Justin did an outstanding job with updating our kitchen. Slate backsplash was removed and replaced with ceramic tiles. He also facilitated the removal of granite countertops/sink plumbing/disposal to facilitate install of new quartz countertops/sink/faucet/disposal. Justin is very conscientious and takes pride in his work. Great communication throughout Kept the kitchen worksite as clean as possible. Further we had a bit of a time crunch and Justin was able to fit us in between other jobs. Very professional. Would highly recommend and use for other home improvement jobs."

"I've hired Alex for many jobs at this point. Alex redid my whole downstairs of my home almost at this point. He refloored My downstairs hardwood and tile, dry walled and painted my rooms, installed cabinets and helped with kitchen design. Tiled My bathroom, installed My vanity and tub. I have absolutely no complaints on any of the work he's done in my home everything has come out beautiful. I would highly recommend."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

The best paints for shower tiles include epoxy, latex, or acrylic. Ideally, you should look for paints that are waterproof and mildew-resistant if you plan to paint shower or other bathroom tiles. You can even find waterproof paints made specifically for tiled surfaces, which will be the best option for shower tile paint that lasts as long as possible.

One major drawback of a concrete tile roof is that the material is heavier than most other roofing materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll need structural reinforcements for your home before you can install the roofing material. Concrete tile roofs are also twice as expensive as asphalt shingle roofs, so even though they last much longer, you’ll see higher up-front costs and lower overall value from concrete roof tiles.

Removing old tiles can be more complicated, but it can also be more manageable, depending on your circumstances. Typically, old tile is hard to remove because the adhesive had loads of time to bond with your wall, becoming a formidable foe between you and your new tile installation project. On the other hand, old tile in high-traffic areas can become loose, making it much easier to remove.

Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. On the other hand, tiles need to be cut, laid individually, grouted, and left to cure.

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.
