- DF ConstructionI was not a member of Angie's list until after I received 4 estimates. The list only confirmed my choice. From the beginning DF showed a keen interest in understanding what I wanted and gave valuable recommendations, and provided a detailed estimate. All of the other providers gave a quick estimate that was higher than DF but only included the siding! Some estimates were totally out of the ballpark. be careful! We reviewed the plan and we agreed that the project would start in 4 weeks. A week later Don called and said due to a delay in another project they could start sooner. The estimated duration was 8 days and with one rain day in between it was on the money. Don's crew were punctual and professional and friendly. Every day ended with a good clean up. At one point I noticed the wrong porch railing were delivered. They were replaced the next day without an issue. In my opinion they showed a high level of experience and craftsmanship that is extremely hard to find today. All materials were first rate and installed properly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone....and already have
- Capital District ElectricGot a call 20 minutes before appt time Eric said he was running 10 minutes late. Was thoughtful to call. He showed up at 910am looked over work to be done gave price quote and immediately got to work fixing our long list of problems. I was unable to explain all our problems over the phone so he did have to leave to drive a half hour to nearest home depot to get correct supplies. He finished all other work he could then left for supplies. He was back in about an hour and about 45 minutes after his return all work was completed then tested. He was great to work with. He answers his phone he does all the work no middle man. Would hire again and recommend his work

- AAZ REMODELINGI was completely happy with the quality of the work, I would recommend and hire again. My jobs were not large, but they were still handled with professionalism. Everything was cleaned up and done very quickly. I called on Monday, he came that night and gave me an estimate and all the work (including getting the materials) was completed by Wednesday mid day. They came Tuesday and finished much, but had to wait for my amazon delivery of my lights and for some part of the door frame to dry... that was completed Wednesday. No complaints, they even liked my dogs and made sure nothing was in their paths while they were working

- ABC Electric Service IncCalled ABC Electric based on family recommendation. They were very nice and flexible on the phone and were fine when I changed the date and time. Ronny from ABC arrived primarily to change the dryer plug but I ended up having him here for 4.5 hours to do misc electrical projects (all done on a Tand M basis) including new garage outlets, circuit and wiring; changing some overhead fixtures, helping me wire and install a HDTV on the wall, etc. Will be having them back soon to do a ceiling fan, outside lights, etc
- Affordable ElectricRidiculous estimate – I was misinformed by Affordable Electric, they stated that I was not getting enough amps from our electric line, they said I was getting 60 amps, when what I needed was 100. They said that the box and all wiring running back to the meter had to be replaced. The cost would be $1200.00. They never did any estimate for the kitchen remodeling as I requested. I called the electric company to confirm this, and they sent a representative out and found that I was getting 100 amps according to our meter. I went with another company who put in a 100 amp fuse box, added 6 outlets, and wired three new exterior lights, all for $250.00

"Don and his team are phenomenal! From the beginning of the estimate process up to the completion of the job it was top level service all around. The price was very competitive and I was particularly impressed that as the job evolved, Don would point out suggestions to make nuanced adjustments to the project that enhanced the results. Whenever, there was an unexpected curveball based on the existing house design, he thoroughly explained what it was and how they were adjusting to resolve it. "Just wanted to express my gratitude to George Ludwig and all his hard working folks at Northern Enterprises! My aunt was away from her home in Granville NY because she was helping care for my parents who both had medical issues in Virginia. Well the furnace went out, and the pipes burst and this resulted in water damage. I was helping her out with the insurance claim because she was busy with my folks. I was so lucky to find Northern Enterprises online. Not only was George Ludwig very responsive, he really helped handle the insurance claim too. We could not come back to NY to deal with any of this in person and it was just as Covid-19 was starting to be a concern in the states. George kept in touch with me by em-mail and text. He sent us any documents that we needed to sign, he sent photos of the work as things were progressing. He even waited to receive the final payment for the work he did until after we got the final payment from the insurance company. Not only did he do the work we asked, he did it with excellence! He went over and above anything that we expected. The house has been restored beautifully. And we never felt like we were at a disadvantage. There were no hidden expenses or unexpected expenses either. George made sure everything went well. He is a man of integrity who you can really trust. "Overall I was not happy. I spend 50 dollars for a certified arborist to come out to my home take a 20 minute look at my tree, tell me I have a problem and then says he will have to send my contact information to someone else for evaluation. When you hire a certified arborist there should be a service level here that at the very least will work with you and whom ever he sent my information to in order to resolve my initial problem. Without getting the other company mentioned into this review I have since began taking corrective action on my own through a local co operative extension.

<br /> Update: Jack contacted me again and explained that he had learned that I was not happy with the service I had received. We talked at length about the visit and we agreed that in the future communication could improve on both sides. I typically do not try and contact a contractor again when I feel that the service performed was not up to my standards. In my previous experiences I find that this is just a typical waste of time. Jack is interested in making his services more clearly stated in the future and acknowledged the issues I had. We also talked about the entire process and the others involved that were not directly related to this service visit and how they could be improved. For that I had to update this post and say good job on fixing your mistakes. For the record he also offered to fix the issues I felt were flawed and the amount charged for his visit. I feel that it takes time and money to run a business and knowing ahead of time that I was going to be charged is a given. The service I asked for was what I got. General rule of thumb when hiring people for work. Have everything spelled out and clearly understand what is being done and for how much.
