"Mat did a great job getting the fall clean up outside of my home. He was prompt and courteous. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and happy with his work. I'd definitely will have him do another couple of projects in the future"

"I originally was looking to put in a fence but for several reasons decided to go with trees instead. Alex and his Guilded Leaf crew put the trees in. Alex, answered all of my questions, made great suggestions and did what he said he would in the time frame and price he promised. Alex gave me more and larger trees that the other vendors, and his price was better. Unfortunately one of the trees died.(it happens) Within 8 days of my first phone call Alex came and replaced the tree with a new one. That's service and professionalism. I recommend Guilded Leaf without reservation."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

By using PPE, sealing work areas, and following containment procedures.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

No, you can’t place hazardous waste in a dumpster unless you specifically ordered a dumpster for hazardous waste removal. If the dumpster company finds hazardous waste that it didn’t approve for dumping, the company will return the waste to you, and you’ll likely face a fine for illegal dumping.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.
