"After purchasing our home in 2020 we were referred to Cindy by an electrician that had a lot of experience working with her. We had never been homeowners before and really didn’t know where to get started with all the renovations that our home needed. We met with Cindy a couple of times at our house and then at her office to collaborate on ideas for our extensive kitchen remodel. Cindy helped us completely transform our kitchen from an outdated 1980s look to an open and modern functional space. Cindy was always considerate of our budget. She connected us to the amazing tile/countertop team Stone Creations as well as the cabinet install team who were responsive, always on time, and efficient. Because we were so happy with Cindy’s design work on the kitchen, we then worked with her and her team to remodel three of the bathrooms in our home. Everything turned out well and the whole process was smooth and not near as stressful as we feared it would be! I would highly recommend Cindy and team at Reno Cabinets and Design to anyone that wants someone trustworthy to collaborate with on their home redesigns."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

While the Arts and Crafts movement inspired many architectural elements, the primary styles from the time include Craftsman, Tudor Revivals, bungalows, and Mission homes. You'll see elements of these styles in homes, churches, museums, and schools—particularly Country Day schools from the era.

You can hire a few different experts to redesign a kitchen. The best option depends on your goals, budget, and timeline. For small updates, we recommend hiring a contractor who specializes in kitchen renovation. For extensive updates, a general contractor might be your best bet since they’ll have experience with all aspects of the remodel. If you’re looking for more ideas in the planning stage, you can hire an interior designer or a kitchen remodeling company. Both options will help you thoroughly envision your new kitchen before the remodel begins.

A pool builder can advise you on the best design for your property and vision, and can walk you through the process from design to a swim-ready pool. Knowing which questions to ask a pool builder can help ensure you choose the right person for the job.

Before hiring an interior designer, ask a few questions to better understand how they work, what’s expected of you, and what they promise to deliver.

  • How long will the project take to complete?

  • What type of services do you offer?

  • Can you provide a project estimate?

  • Do you work with subcontractors?

  • Are you licensed or certified in this state?

  • Do you have a portfolio of previous work I can review?

  • May I contact your customer references?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • How do you handle payment?

A hearth often looks like a tile or brick floor that juts out from and surrounds your fireplace. A hearth can be made of stone, brick, ceramic, or any other fireproof material. Brick offers a classic and traditional vibe, whereas a hearth made of marble or ceramic may lean more toward modern aesthetics. The most common depth of a hearth is 20 inches.
