"Alex and his crew were absolutely amazing. Family owned company and highly, I mean highly recommended. When Alex came out to give us a quote we had to change everything we wanted done as we had no water coming from the main water line to the irrigation system anymore. Alex brainstormed until he came up with an idea to get water to the whole yard again including my auto fill on my pool. Then they took out the old flagstone in the courtyard and paved the entire courtyard including adding planter boxes. Just a superb job and will defiantly hire again in the future. Very professional, shows up early, goes above and beyond, is very reasonable in his quotes, and very honest. You will not be disappointed in hiring any services from this company. Thank you my courtyard is beautiful."

"I have a small backyard in a new home that needed to be landscaped. We had our patio extended, some artificial turf installed, sprinkler system, rocks, trees and various plants. Our existing patio is made out of pavers and you can't even tell where the old patio ends and the new part starts. We are very pleased with everything from the original design to the completion. Mike was nice and helpful and made a virtual plan so we could see what it would look like. There were five guys doing the work and they were friendly and the hardest workers I have ever seen. Quality workmanship. They did excellent cleanup daily. It took three and a half days from start to finish."

They were the most professional installation team I have ever experienced. The installation was executed with perfection. Every item was symmetrically placed and installed exactly according to my specifications. My gratitude goes out to them for their high-quality work."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Maintaining a driveway depends on its material. For concrete and asphalt, it's best to clean the surface thoroughly twice a year with a stiff broom and a pressure washer to remove accumulated dirt and debris. Sealing the driveway is crucial to protect it from water damage and freeze-thaw cycles. Before applying a sealant, pressure wash the surface to remove any loose sealant, dirt, or stains, as sealing over them will trap them. Any cracks or expansion joints should be filled with a flexible polyurethane caulk or asphalt sealer. In colder climates, use sand instead of salt for de-icing. Sand helps melt snow and ice without accelerating the freeze-thaw process, which can cause cracks.

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

Box fill refers to the maximum number of conductors that can be contained within a wiring enclosure box, as well as the total volume of the components. Determining the allowable number of conductors in a box requires adding up the number of conductors, clamps, support fittings, devices and equipment, and equipment grounding conductors to make sure you’re within the allowable volume.

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

You’ll first need to install a base underneath your pavers for extra stability and drainage. Otherwise, the pavers can sink into the ground, and you’ll have to reinstall them. Use a base gravel layer of 4 to 6 inches for walkways and 10 to 12 inches for driveways. Compact your gravel layer every 2 to 4 inches so it’s nice and solid. After you install your gravel base, apply a 1-inch layer of sand on top.
