"Melissa answered my query quickly and scheduled me for the dryer vent cleaning. Her team arrived on time and were very professional and did a fantastic job. I definitely recommend them. I will reschedule them to clean my air vents as well as my fireplace. This is a great family-owned business."

Working as an Airbnb cleaner requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a strong sense of hospitality. Unlike standard housekeeping, the role focuses on preparing a space to feel welcoming and “guest-ready,” ensuring each visitor arrives to a spotless and comfortable environment. This includes deep cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, changing linens, restocking essentials, and staging the space so it looks fresh and inviting. Because turnovers often occur within tight time windows, the job demands strong time management and the ability to follow detailed checklists to maintain consistent quality.\n\nBeyond cleaning, the role contributes directly to guest satisfaction and positive reviews. Airbnb cleaners often report maintenance issues, replace supplies, and ensure the property reflects the host’s standards and brand. Reliability and communication are essential, as hosts depend on cleaners to prepare the property on schedule and alert them to any damages!

"I would give The Chimney Guy a "10" if I could! If you want a company that is professional, timely, honest, economical, and friendly...this is it! I have had a problem with rain leaking through our chimney and into the fireplace for years. I had two roofing companies look at it as well as another chimney competitor...for whatever reason they couldn't or wouldn't do the job. Enter The Chimney Guy! The job was completed in two short visits for a VERY reasonable price which included installing two rain caps and reinstalling two chimney shrouds...all done with professionalism! Kudos to Joe, Cat, and James for their outstanding work!!"

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Running a gas fireplace costs approximately $0.35 per hour for natural gas and $0.62 per hour for propane, though these figures can vary significantly based on fuel prices in your area. On average, the annual cost to run a gas fireplace is between $400 and $640. The exact impact on your utility bill depends on several factors, including how often you use it, the size of the room you're heating, and the fireplace's BTU rating. Some models with a constantly running pilot light will consume a minimal amount of energy even when off, although many modern fireplaces do not require one. If you are looking for a more energy-efficient option, consider an electric fireplace.

You can find replacement stove parts for popular brands at local hardware stores or major retailers. However, you might find the best deal by directly buying online from the manufacturer. While there are some universal parts, the manufacturer can also help you find parts that are specific to your stove’s make and model.

Gas-powered fireplaces seem to be the most desirable type for homebuyers, per a Redfin report on homebuying trends. That said, any fireplace that has been maintained well and is in safe, working condition could be a draw for buyers, regardless of whether it uses wood logs, propane, or electricity as fuel.

Gas, electric, and inductive. Technically speaking, inductive stoves also fall under the electric stove category. However, they use electromagnetic energy to turn the cookware itself into a heat source instead of heating the burner to heat the cookware. As a result, they ensure precise temperature control, which is often the biggest complaint from people switching from gas to electric.

Modern wood-burning stoves are very effective, reaching around 80% efficiency. That’s because models built after 1988 are designed to meet standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to operate more efficiently and produce less air pollution. If you have an older wood stove, it may not be as efficient.
