"Hello, if I could give Mr. Sanchez and his team more than 5 stars I certainly would. They were all hard working professionals. He was here at the agreed time, he finished the work exactly when he said he would. They cleaned and straightened my yard making it look much better than it did before the work was started. The wood he used was straight and beautiful and now I have a gorgeous new fence! His price was very reasonable and I'm actually looking for other projects I can hire him for. Obviously, I could'nt be happier with his work. Many thanks again, Mr. Sanchez. Maureen Starnes"

Small jobs welcome

"During the spring of this year, we were looking for someone to build a wrought iron fence for our yard. The job included 300ft wrought iron fence at 54" in height with one walk-way gate and two 2 dual swinging 10 ft gates. Based on a recommendation and discussions we selected Chad Nevarez to do the work. Chad was especially good at ensuring that we were happy with the details of the fence construction. The result was a well-constructed and beautiful wrought iron fence. We have had many compliments by our neighbors on the fence. We would highly recommend anyone that needs this kind of fence should contact Chad for an estimate."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

The cost to build a fence is about $3,100 on average, but you could pay anywhere from $400 to $13,700 or more. Your cost will depend on the length, height, and materials for the fence. If you hire a professional installer, labor costs typically represent about half of the total cost of the project. This means you potentially can save quite a bit of money doing the work yourself.

The average cost to install a fence is between $1,800 and $4,500. However, the price can vary significantly based on several factors. For a small DIY project, costs could be as low as $450, while fencing a large property like a 5-acre yard can exceed $43,000. Key factors that influence the total cost include the fence's size and height, the material used, the complexity of the design, site preparation needs, and any additional features like gates. The cost of raw materials, manufacturing, and custom fabrication can also impact the final price.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.

The safest pool fence depends on your specific needs, such as protecting children and pets. Generally, a fence that is difficult to climb and lacks gaps that a child or pet could slip through is safest. Mesh and tempered glass are very safe options because they are difficult to climb. Mesh fences often meet height requirements, although they may not be the most durable. Solid fences made of wood, concrete, or stone can also be very effective, provided they are high enough to prevent climbing. For additional safety, you could install a pool safety net or a full swimming pool enclosure. Proper maintenance of the pool area is also essential.
