Small jobs welcome

"DC LLC/Chris McDaniel did an outstanding job for NNMC's El Rito Campus. They pulled electricity to our greenhouse and installed irrigation systems at both the greenhouse and our rain gardens. From start to finish, their work was top-notch ? knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. What really set them apart was how well they worked with our facilities team and how they kept communication open throughout the entire project. Chris genuinely cares about the quality of his work and it shows. They were helpful, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend DC LLC for anyone looking for a reliable, skilled contractor. We couldn't have asked for a better experience."

"We hired this company to install an EV charging station and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The electrician was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain the process and answer questions. The installation was clean, code-compliant, and completed on schedule with no surprises. Everything works perfectly, and the work area was left spotless. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing EV charger installation or other electrical work."

"Larry and his colleagues did a terrific job installing three ceiling fans and two recessed lights! This wasn't simply installing fans on existing wiring...it required wiring, installation of outlets, switches and dimmers. I was extremely pleased with pricing, the technical service and professional manner with which Larry oversaw and worked this project. Many thanks and highly recommended! Will continue to do work with this professional!"

"They called me about 10 minutes after I requested a quote through angi, and told me they could come by for a quote in a couple hours. They called again when they were 5 minutes away to ensure I was home. They were very professional. They asked if I prefer if they wear a mask, inspected the job, provided a quote that I felt was very fair, and told me they could start immediately. The work took about 3 hours and was completed the same day. This is exactly the kind of help I was looking for. They were punctual, professional, fair, and did excellent work. I will absolutely be hiring them again should I need electrical services. Highly recommend."

"Crew was polite and fairly efficient. They installed a fan they had never seen before and had trouble figuring out how to put it together. This job required running electric and they had to cut holes in the drywall. They replaced the cut-out pieces but they could have taken more time with this, which would have made it easier to patch and paint later. Otherwise, they did a good job!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

It is safe to run a generator continuously, but you must follow safety protocols to ensure personal and home safety. Read the manufacturer’s instructions for specific recommendations, but the general recommendation is to turn generators off overnight or when you’re away from the house. Overworked generators can pose a fire hazard and if your generator is not in a well-ventilated area, running it continuously could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Portable generators provide backup power for essential appliances during outages and are easy to relocate.

It’s usually better to repair your generator if it isn’t working properly, as it will typically be much more affordable and should yield similar results. Generator repairs cost around $300 on average, while installing a new whole-house generator costs around $5,000 on average. The only exception is if you know your generator is reaching the end of its useful life, usually between 30 and 40 years. If you have an older generator, you could face multiple repairs in the coming years, which might mean that a full replacement will be more cost-effective over time.

To power a central air system during a power outage, the whole-house generator will need to be at least 5,000 watts, and this number will significantly increase for larger units. Check the specific wattage requirements of your AC unit to choose the right generator size. Consider consulting a generator installer to ensure your whole-house generator meets your electrical load needs.

Homeowners can often access federal tax credits, such as the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which covers a percentage of installation costs. Many states and utilities offer additional rebates, grants, or performance-based incentives. These programs can significantly lower your upfront investment. Check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) or contact your local energy office for current offers.
