"We needed someone to install tile around the bathtub at an apartment unit we own. Joey at 2 Daughters Handyman came to the rescue. He quoted us a fair price based on what we could see. However, once he started the work other complications were discovered such as mold behind the existing wall. Joey and his crew were able to take care of each issue and charged us a fair amount for the extra work performed. We were very impressed with his willingness to get the job done in a timely manner. He even went to two or three places on his own to find the tile we wanted. We will definitely use 2 Daughters again and would recommend them to anyone needing his services.

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, asbestos is not easily identified and can often be hidden in plain sight in your home. While it can look like fluffy fibers, tiny pieces can also appear in materials like plastic or cement, making it impossible to identify on your own properly.

Plus, since asbestos is so dangerous when disturbed, you should never root around to try and find it. This job is best for a professional who can test for the material properly.

Soaking memory foam can break down its structure over time or even encourage mold growth. However, brief encounters with moisture will not ruin your memory foam. As long as the mattress, topper, or cushion dries soon after getting wet, there's nothing to worry about. Just be sure to keep the affected item in an area with plenty of air and sun to encourage quick drying.

Although you can run a DIY test for mold inside your home by buying a test kit, you won’t know whether the strain of mold is dangerous. The best way to test for mold in a home is to hire a professional who can determine the specific type of mold that you have. If you’re worried you exposed yourself to mold and it’s making you ill, you could request a health test. Your personal doctor could test your urine, take a nasal swab, or test some body tissue to determine your potential exposure to mold.

Using bowls of water for humidity can be an effective way to increase the humidity level in a room, but it's essential to consider potential risks. Placing bowls of water near heat sources might pose a hazard as they could spill, causing damage or creating slip hazards. Moreover, stagnant water can become a breeding ground for bacteria or mold (you really want to get rid of black mold stat) if not changed regularly, potentially negatively affecting indoor air quality. Water bowls can also accidentally spill onto surfaces, causing water damage to furniture or flooring. Regular maintenance and cautious placement can mitigate these risks.

The most common sign of a carbon monoxide leak is the visible black soot marks on the walls near your wood stove. An excess accumulation of smoke in other rooms of your home could also indicate that your wood burning stove is leaking carbon monoxide. If you notice either of these signs or are still unsure, it’s best to leave the premises and contact your fire department to check your home’s levels.
