"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"The worker was punctual and we first looked over the fence together and decided which pickets needed replacing.  Then we went to Home Depot and selected the newpickets together.  Then returned and he went to work and worked through the day until 8pm to complete the job.  The workman was professional and worked hard.  I had him return for a separate charge to haul away the old pickets.

"This is a beautiful home.  Joe has been a pleasure to work with.   This is the second project we have worked with Joe.  He built a garage for us several years ago, so we asked him to bid on this new home.
Joe subcontracted to a great flooring company and a wonderful granite company and a fabulous cabinet maker.  He and his crew did the framing, slab, roofing, drywall, and most of the work.  Joe is on the job site most days and believes in doing the job right.  The biggest problem we had with this project was that the cultured marble subcontractor was not responsive and was slow and not interested in finishing the marble or doing the job right.  I doubt Joe will use this marble complany again.
Joe doesn't mind having the homeowner around.  My husband walked around the site every evening and if he had any questions, Joe was always responsive and willing to answer questions and explain why things were being done the way they were.
Joe's crew is pleasant to be around.  This home is being built for my in-laws and is next door to my home, so I spent a lot of time around the crew and got to know them.
Our one thing that we feel could be improved is that Joe needs to write more detailed contracts.  It avoids any mis-understandings when changes need to be made or when lighting or other fixtures are being picked out.  We haven't had any problems, but the potential exists without detailed contracts.  Joe is a man of honor and integrity and is one of the few that still works on his word and a hand shake.
Over the past 6 - 8 months of bidding, contract and building we have gotten to know Joe and would highly reccomend him to others for home building or remodeling.

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.

No, a structural engineer is not the same as a builder. A structural engineer is an expert in all things related to the structural integrity of a building. The structural engineer is responsible for calculating the correct materials in terms of load-bearing capacity and overall structural safety. Structural engineers do not perform the actual building of the house or other structures. Rather, the builder executes the plans and designs specified by the structural engineer.

It usually takes around four to six months to build and install a modular home, although your timeline could go up to around eight months if there are delays in the manufacturing or permitting process. Heavy site preparation and foundation pouring can extend that timeline if you need them, as can customizations you want for your modular home. Your modular home company should be able to provide an estimate for the construction timeline before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.

Most cottages are around 1,000 square feet, making them smaller than most other styles. However, cottages are defined more by their decor and architectural focus on simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature than they are by a rigid square footage or floor plan. While cottages are defined more by their charm and appearance than size, the smaller footprint does help maximize the comfort and charm, and it keeps the focus on connection to nature and family.

Yes, a home builder or contractor should have the proper licensing and insurance. Licensing requirements vary by state and municipality, but most states mandate that a builder holds at least a general contractor’s license. For specialized work such as plumbing, electrical, roofing, or sewage systems, individual licenses may be required, in which case the builder may subcontract the work. You can use Angi’s state licensing tool to review your local guidelines and confirm a builder's credentials. As you browse professionals, you can also look for the “Angi Certified” badge. This indicates the business meets our certification standards, which include passing a criminal background check, holding applicable state and local licenses, and maintaining an average rating of 3.0 or better.
