"Called before heading over, did an excellent job installing our drawer pulls in our kitchen, cleaned up after themselves and charged a fair price for the work. Will be using them again for other projects."

After some unexpected challenges with the way our home was built, our installation crew quickly and efficiently adapted to make sure our windows and door were installed with expert care. "I called another company 1st, They told my aging mother that my furnace was too old and no parts were made for it anymore. They wanted to sell me a new furnace (only the 1 brand they sold). Not only that, they wanted to rewire my new water heater for another $350! They told my mother that my house could blow up any minute! Obviously they were trying to take advantage of an old woman. I then called PHC, who over the phone could tell me they were happy to work on my older furnace and parts were no problem. The owner himself came out to do the estimate and showed me the problem. Just a thermocouple. I really appreciated that he took time to explain and show me the problem. He sent a very nice worker out the next day and they were happy to work around my work schedule. The woman who works on the phone is a bit stuffy, but overall I was hugely satisfied. When I had the thermocouple replaced 6 years before by a different company and it cost 15 dollars more!"

"We hired JS&W because of some good reviews we found, and their estimate came in well under 3 competitors'. Our new windows and stucco look great. The subcontractors for the window installation came on time, worked quickly, and even replaced our blinds and curtains when they were done. Every single window fit and works perfectly. The stucco work also looks great. James was helpful and professional throughout the process, and kept us posted when there were some understandable pandemic-related delays. Yes, we'd hire JS&W again."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The cost of adding glass to your kitchen cabinet doors depends on the number of cabinets, type of glass, and labor costs. Glass typically costs between $5 to $20 per sheet and you can expect to purchase complementary hardware materials for $2 to $50 each. If you’re hiring a cabinet professional to install glass in your cabinet doors, ask them for a specific estimate before hiring.

When glass shatters, larger shards quickly drop to the ground, but smaller particles can go on an airborne journey up to 15 feet from the point of impact. So check under furniture, along the edges of rugs, and in dark corners for glass fragments. When in doubt, vacuum the entire room a few times after thoroughly cleaning.

White vinegar, water, and baking soda create a natural cleaning solution that is highly effective against brown stains on the oven door. Mix one cup of baking soda, one-fourth cup of water, and one teaspoon of vinegar into a paste. Spread it evenly onto the oven glass and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, scrape the mixture off with a plastic spatula. Wipe the glass with white vinegar to remove any remaining baking soda.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.
