"Greg was amazing. We bought a vacation house and live 9 hours away. We had a very long list of things that needed to be done. We gave Greg the key to the house and he worked nonstop for weeks. Every day he would send pictures of the work he had done. He knocked out an entire list before we got there and then worked with me for days getting moved in. I honestly could not have done it without him. I am so grateful we found someone honest who never said he couldn't do something I needed done and he did a great job. HIGHLY recommend him and will be using him for many more projects now and in the future."

Tuff Shed is America's leading provider of installed storage sheds and garages. Since 1981, Tuff Shed has been delivering on its customer promise of providing quality outdoor storage solutions of lasting value through the use of innovative engineering, proven construction techniques and expert consultative services. Tuff Shed buildings are manufactured and installed locally, with domestically produced materials. Our local professionals help guide customers through the entire design and construction process, with installation of our buildings included in the purchase price.

"PURCHASED FROM A TUFF SHED DEALER in ABQ, NM. So many exposed nails on inside from a ‘missed the stud scenario’. There is one area where the screw attaching the outside vertical component of the shed to the floor of the shed was not screwed in completely, an 1/4” space existed between the side wall and the floor. Every nail/ screw in the manufacture of the building is not redundant. This represents a compromise in the structural integrity of the Tuff Shed. These are the company’s policies. EXCELLENCE POLICY: Taking all necessary steps to create the best products and supply the best services. INTEGRITY POLICY: Living up to our promises, commitments and responsibilities. Both of their policies were not fulfilled in construction of my shed!!"

"This is an incredible family owned and operated business. Their roofing product and solution set is top notch, and for a flat roof, there really is no other care-free option. They are extremely professional, clean, efficient and they care beyond belief. They go out of there way to protect you, your house and everything in the immediate area. They are friendly and easy to work with, and just a great group of people. I had them replace a roof on a house that I sold, and immediately asked them to help out on a new purchase. I have experience with structured foam and spray foam applications, and for our New Mexico location and climate, this is the very best solution for your roof. I am quite happy and satisfied, and you will be as well."

T.Shaw Const Co has been providing quality roofing and remodeling services in Alamogordo since 1978. We are a quality oriented second generation family owned and operated business. We are fully insured and are an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.

"Shaw went above and beyond. They filed a claim with Corning when we started losing shingles. They worked to insure we got a full replacement for a roof that was 10 years old. They did a great job with the work, and our roof is now in great shape. They have also done fantastic follow up for a couple of minor issues."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

R-30 insulation is better for higher thermal resistance, but whether it’s "better" depends on the application. R-30 is much thicker and suited for areas like attics or floors in cold climates, where more insulation is required. R-13, on the other hand, is thinner and works well for 2x4 walls or milder climates where less insulation is sufficient. Choosing between R-13 and R-30 depends on the area being insulated and the climate. For example, R-30 provides more insulation but may not fit everywhere in your home.

Actually, condensation can mean that your windows are more energy efficient because the seal keeps cold air out and warm air in. In some cases, windows with poor seals can lead to more condensation, but they may allow the cold and warm air to mix and reduce condensation. If you’re worried about whether or not your windows are properly insulated, have a pro assess them.

Even though spray foam insulation typically comes at a higher price point than other insulation types, the benefits make up for the investment. Some benefits of spray foam insulation include:

  • Improved air quality, as this type of insulation helps minimize indoor allergens

  • Easy installation

  • Lifespan of 80 to 100 years.

  • Added home strength, protecting it from humidity and wind.

  • Additional soundproofing

  • Energy bill savings

It is possible to insulate your walls without removing drywall, but it’s not a good idea to attempt the work yourself. A professional can use blown-in insulation or spray foam insulation to fill wall voids without opening up the walls, and the option they use typically depends on your climate and whether or not there’s insulation in your wall already that can remain in place. Spray foam insulation costs more and isn’t always a viable option, but it’s a better insulator. Call in an expert to help decide which is right for you.

It’s technically possible to install loose-fill cellulose insulation without a blower, but it’s much more time-consuming, tedious, and dangerous. You’ll need to wear the proper protective coverings to handle the cellulose after it’s been doused in boric acid; use a shovel when you can to transport the material from the bag into the wall cavity.

That said, if you purchase cellulose materials at a home improvement store, ask if they rent out blowers for free or at a discounted rate. In many cases, if you buy the material from the store, they’ll rent out the blower at no extra cost.
